IT Technician All Points, LLC | Macdill AFB, Florida 33608 Early Career (2+ yrs experience) Unspecified Top Secret IT - Support IT - Support DESCRIPTION OF POSITION/DUTIES:
IT Technician is responsible for researching, managing, and troubleshooting all computer systems, printers, scanners, and software, and information technology equipment assigned to the DCC. IT technician must diagnose computer problems, monitor computer-processing systems, install software and perform tests on computer equipment and programs. Technician may also set up computer equipment, schedule maintenance and teach customers to use common programs outlined in this PWS. Configure all new computers with standard desktop standard as established by Air Force. IT Tech will install additional software as required. Monitors networks for problems & outages; reports issues. Support customers with government-owned computer systems (estimated number of computers supported weekly is 52). Other job duties can include minor repairs and computer parts ordering. Must have advanced knowledge of core hardware and operating system technologies including installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventive maintenance, and networking. Maintain communications closet wiring and network diagrams. Perform network management, validate requirements, assists in troubleshooting, and coordinate with 6 CS Client Service and Air Force Enterprise Service Desk (ESD) for assistance and commercial company for repairs to their network or equipment. Must have a working knowledge of basic A/V equipment and experience. Installs and maintains all audio/video technology; including but not limited to podiums, digital projectors, document cameras, classroom audio, DVD, video distribution equipment, digital signage displays, and other educational/ training technology (tablets, stylus pens, clickers, interactive whiteboards). Additionally, they will need to set up and alter room arrangements including tables, seats, and stages according to layout diagrams and schedules. Paerform equipment additions, removals, repairs, replacements and inspections. Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions. Assemble and disassemble audiovisual equipment as needed. Operate and control the lighting and sound systems. Provide unclassified and classified Video Teleconferencing (VTC) services for the DCC. Test equipment to ensure they are in good and safe working conditions. Perform inventory management of equipment, wirings, and accessories to avoid any shortages. Make recommendations for equipment purchase, system design, and facility utilization. Manage, track, and receive purchases, warranty records, and licenses for all government-owned and leased hardware, firmware, and software. Compile technical information or documentation and maintain records, documents, or other files. Provide technical data and system drawings for VTC system accreditation when required. Utilize Hirsch Velocity Software to create security code for each conference NLT 24-hours prior to project officer’s arrival or start of the event, whichever occurs first. Provide initial and recurring training to educate new DCC staff members and contractor personnel to a level commensurate with their duties and responsibilities.
Must complete Defense Information Systems Network-Global Video Services (GVS) facilitator training. Additionally, act as primary or alternate in the following additional duties: 1) Communication Security (COMSEC) Custodian, 2) Equipment Account Custodian, 3) Information Technology Equipment Custodian (ITEC), 4) Video Teleconferencing (VTC) Facilitator, 5) Telephone Control Officer (operating and maintaining secure and voice over IP phones), 6) Information Assurance Officer (IAO), 7) Records Custodian, 8) Safety Monitor, or 9) DCC Security Manager.
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 3 - 5 years successful experience in computer networks, computer systems maintenance, and network operating systems
EDUCATION:
BS or AS Degree preferred, or equivalent relevant experience
SKILLS/CERTIFICATIONS:
Security+ Certification Required
United States Citizenship Required
Active Top Secret Clearance Required
Software skills – working with various computer software is a necessity for IT technician.
Troubleshooting – troubleshoot all equipment issues in a timely manner.
Physical Fitness – it is common for technicians to lift 50 to 80 pounds individually. Furthermore, standing, walking, climbing ladders, and navigating tight spaces is a common requirement.
Customer Service – Must possess excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. Interfacing with customers and guests on-site to make sure their requirements are met, and that equipment is functioning is a major responsibility. Assist employees with Computer problems and answer their questions
Organization Skills – being organized is a requirement due to the tools, wiring, cables, and parts that they must methodically sort and install. Must possess the ability to meet deadlines and manage stress effectively in high-pressure situations
