Position Summary
WORK REMOTELY FROM YOUR HOME OFFICE
The VP of Product oversees solutions portfolio and offerings roadmap to elevate our brand and capabilities to become the innovator and leader in Customer Intelligence, serving the automotive industry. The VP of Product leads the strategy, design, market assessment, business case, pricing, product marketing, and launch efforts.
The VP of Product is responsible for designing solutions that increase customer stickiness, product propensity, and revenue – all designed with automation at its core, so the offerings are designed with a margin goal of 70%+ and designed to scale.
Essential Functions
Product Strategy and Leadership
• Develops, leads, and supports product growth by shaping the annual and future growth plans tied back to the OGSM strategy with the Executives and functional leaders - always looking to expand the playing field and leadership within the North American Automotive industry.
• Serves as a creative leader with great problem-solving skills to address and resolve existing and emerging issues.
·       Prepares recommendations based on data – e.g., usage, competition, and voice of customer.
·       Works directly with product managers to produce detailed requirements and user stories that are accepted and successfully translated by development teams to a product specification that consistently meets the needs of company and our customers.
• Collaborates with the sales team to ensure they are equipped and able to deliver on the sales forecast from the product business case (e.g., volume, price, and margin).
• Oversees the product marketing to ensure successful introduction, launch, and market share goals are achieved.
• Continuously improves the product capabilities – develops a list of features, functions, and upgrades to increase the usage, value, retention, and customer satisfaction.
Customer Satisfaction
• Ensures customers receive a high value/return on investment (ROI) on product solutions to ensure retention and customer satisfaction.
• Works with key customer relationships to ensure product vision, needs, and adoption are met and exceed expectations.
• Analyzes customer turnover trends to understand product deficiencies, opportunities, and/or competitive pressures and developments.
Training and Development
• Leads and develops the product and development team to enhance their knowledge, skills, and capabilities, including skills development, encouraging collaboration, mentoring, and creating an open environment where failures are embraced as learning opportunities.
• Motivates the team by championing accomplishments.
Leadership
• Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) and evangelist, understanding the overall automotive industry trends and elevating product voice within the community.
• Maintains a strong command of the shopper market, customer needs, competitive value propositions and strategies, category management, and partner initiatives.
• Develops and leads internal and external product advisory groups to ensure solutions future strategies align with and respond to the developing industry trends and the needs of the customer community.
• Manages agency providers, vendors, consultants, freelancers, and other partners to ensure output aligns with agreed upon terms and assignment/project parameters.
• Collaborates with peers and colleagues in other departments to improve product operations.
·       Ensures alignment to corporate Mission, Vision, and Values to meet organizational goals.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Bachelor’s degree or proven success in Product Management, System or Technology, or related field of study.
• 8+ years leading a creative and disciplined product management process and teams, ideally using AGILE methodology.
• Working knowledge of Product Development Methodologies (i.e. PMP, Scrum, AGILE, PMC). Associated Certifications a plus.
• Experience working with Enterprise level technology, integration, and software partners (i.e. CDK, etc.).
• Working knowledge and experience with Azure Dev Ops reporting and dashboards; creating and managing Epics, Features, and management of story creation with sprint oversight; creating product personas and timeline mapping software; Gainsight or other similar product experience, utilization, and training platforms; SalesForce reporting and dashboards; and creating successful go-to market strategy, including appropriate beta and pilot customer selection and management of a full product launch process.
• Proven experience leading product management teams with a product strategy skill to 'see around the corner' to anticipate then adjust to changing market conditions and client.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams including engineering, sales, marketing, finance, and operations.
• Proven ability to deliver a customer centric design approach to solutions and overall brand evolution.
• Exhibits a calm and sensible approach to sorting product complexity into a multi-year roadmap with quarter specific delivery targets.
• Real-world experience designing products for the automotive sector B2B and B2C experience including UI, UX, human/computer interaction, contextual and guided assistance, choice AND bundling of components.
• Ability to be a visionary, driven by passion to bring ideas to market that help transform customers.
• Demonstrated ability in gathering and analyzing market information and client research to drive business planning and strategy; highly analytical approach to decision making and prioritization.
• Must have excellent written, verbal, and inter-personal communication skills -- able to coach others effectively; strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and respond to changing needs as they present in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work in a high-growth, fast paced culture.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to partner with multiple departments within the organizational to ensure cross-departmental communication and synergy.
• Ability to align with Mission, Vision, Values, and goals to support the growth initiatives and organizational needs.
Work Environment
·       Work performed in a standard home office (telework) environment
Travel Requirements
·       Travel may be necessary, up to 25% of the time (local, regional). Travel would involve the following mode(s) of travel: car, train, and air.
