Position Summary: The Compliance Officer oversees the Corporate Compliance Program for Tampa Family Health Centers (TFHC), functioning as an independent and objective body that reviews and evaluates compliance issues and/or concerns within the organization. This position ensures the Board of Directors, senior leadership and employees are following the rules and regulations of all regulatory agencies, that company policies and procedures are being followed, and that behavior in the organization meets the Standards of Conduct.
Essential Functions :
• Monitoring and reporting results of all compliance/ethics efforts of the company
• Providing guidance for the Board of Directors and senior leadership on compliance related matters
• Implementing all necessary actions to ensure achievement of the objectives set for in the organization compliance program
General Duties:
• Support the Mission, Vision and Values of TFHC
• Develops, implements, maintains and revises policies and procedures for general operation of the Compliance Program to prevent illegal activity, improper or unethical conduct; manages the day to day operations of the program
• Periodically review and update the Standards of Conduct to ensure its current and relevant
• Collaborates with senior leaders and other departments to direct compliance issues through the appropriate channels; consult with attorney, as needed, to resolve any complex compliance issues
• Respond to all alleged violation of corporate compliance program and Standards of Conduct by evaluating the issue and determining if further investigation is warranted; develops, implements and oversees a process for uniform handling of violations
• Serves as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that Company related compliance issues are being appropriately and timely evaluated, investigated and resolved
• Monitors and coordinates compliance activities with other departments to remain abreast of all compliance activities and to identify trends
• Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; resolves problematic issues and provides guidance on how to avoid future recurrences
• Creates and generates compliance related reports, as requested
• Ensures accurate and timely reporting of violations and/or potential violations to appropriate person/agencies, as appropriate
• Monitors and provides direction and management of the Corporate Hotline; communicates the use of hotline to staff
• Creates and ensures implementation of a sound compliance training program; includes the training for all new hires and ongoing for all staff; monitors and makes changes as warranted
Knowledge and Experience :
• Minimum (5) years’ experience in business operations
• Minimum (4) years’ supervisory experience with demonstrated leadership
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral
Education, Certification Training and License:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or another related field required
