Full Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
• Greet and check-in clients.
• Answer telephones and transfer calls.
• Escort pets to exam rooms.
• Discuss payment options and process payment.
• Enters medical notes and charges into client files.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Assists with procedures
• Monitors patients.
• To provide pet owners proper instruction about follow-up care for their pets (if applicable).
• To maintain a safe and healthy environment in the surgical suite through standard cleaning procedures on a regular basis for all equipment and environs in the suite.
• Notifies the Veterinarian of supplies on hand and those needed.
• Assists veterinarians in other duties as assigned.
• Helps keep surveillance of animals for disease and temperament and reports concerns to Veterinarian.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
• Ability to work successfully as part of a team and autonomously
• Ability to remain composed in stressful environment
• Flexibility with work hours and ability to work additional hours when necessary
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent client service skills and phone etiquette
• Attention to detail.
• Self-motivated.
• Sense of urgency.
• Critical thinking skills and ability to anticipate needs inter & intra-departmentally.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain composure dealing with difficult/emotional situations.
• General computer competency required including Microsoft word and excel.
• Ability to lift up to 30lbs.
• Customer service experience required.
• Understanding of the Human/Animal Bond a must
• Previous experience in veterinary setting preferred.
