About the team:
This team is responsible for supporting financial institution conversions from competing platforms to the FIS Integrated Banking Systems (IBS) Loan solution. They work closely with implementation business analysts and the client to understand conversion requirements and translates those requirements into specialized conversion programs.
What you will be doing?
You will be analyzing conversion data files from multiple vendors and transform data into standardized conversion formats. You will also evaluate conversion errors for possible solutions and assist implementation analysts with the verification and balancing of conversion data. Team members are required to work weekends (approximately 8-0 weekends per year) to support conversion activities and perform weekly on call support (3-4 weeks per year).
• Analyzes and translates business requirements into specialized conversion programs
• Codes, tests and debugs highly customized conversion programs
• Assists in the balancing and verification of conversion projects
• Demonstrates an understanding of FIS systems and the financial services industry
• Suggests technical alternatives and improves/streamlines processes and systems
• Completes project assignments and special projects commensurate with job expectations
• Provides input into unique client requests, including solution design and project estimates
• May provide leadership and/or guidance to other technical professionals
What you bring:
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related discipline is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience that is required for the specific job level.
• Knowledge of structured COBOL programming techniques with general understanding of IMS and/or DB2 DBMS is required
• Strong understanding of working with sequential data files, including packed numeric, binary, EBCDIC, ASCII and FTP
• Knowledge of IBM z/OS operating environment, including JCL, TSO, ISPF, VSAM, SYNCSORT, Expediter, Insync and VISION:Results (DYL280)
• Excellent problem-solving, team and time management skills
• Knowledge of FIS' products and services, specifically with Integrated Banking Systems (IBS) is preferred but not required
