Position Summary
The Yacht Donation Facilitator II is responsible for securing and developing funding for AMIkids through the restoration and resale of donated marine vessels. Responsible for tracking, analyzing, expanding and managing donor and broker database. Also analyzing the condition of a wide variety of water crafts, generating cost estimates associated with restoration work.
Essential Job Duties
• Manage the entire Yacht Donation process with brokers, donors and AMIkids Boatyard; develop and maintain relationships to execute donations of suitable vessels, execute the AMIkids Leasing Process or sale of vessels, receive and review written offer(s) in conjunction with AMIkids “Purchase and Sales Agreement”, communicate and educate yacht donation process, AMIkids mission, IRS guidelines, etc. to all interested parties (brokers, donors, businesses, lessees, etc.),
• Maintain contact information of all donors (potential and current) and brokers into AMIkids database,
• Using proven sales industry methodologies, conduct prospecting calls to develop relationships with the Yacht Brokerage Community to execute successful donations of suitable vessels,
• Ensure all monetary functions are performed in compliance with IRS documentation and reporting regulatory requirements,
• Prospecting goals to be set at least annually but may be updated by Supervisor at any time,
• Working with the AMIkids Boatyard Project Manager and the Director of Boatyard, shepherd the material improvement process to include project status, progress and expenses in accordance with Internal Revenue Service standards and directives,
• Assist in establishing and meeting annual donation, fundraising, and engagement goals,
• Partner with the AMIkids Boatyard Business Manager to maintain foundation, corporation and individual donor files, prepare lease documents and obtain information for proper name of entity on lease; sign and return to central listing agent; conduct credit check and financials as necessary, and process donations and prepare acknowledgement letters along with other correspondence,
• Partner with the AMIkids Boatyard Program Manager to prepare approved media materials for distribution, and assemble media and donor kits for events and meetings,
• Create (weekly, monthly and adhoc) reports needed to monitor and track progress using AMIkids database when possible,
• Conduct preliminary research on prospective corporate foundation and individual donors,
• Coordinate productions and mailings related to appeal letters,
• Answer donor questions regarding tax credit programs,
• Attend and maintain appropriate crisis intervention and physical restraint training and certification as defined by state and contract requirements,
• Attend and maintain CPR and First Aid certification by nationally recognized organization,
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education, Training and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree,
• Two (2) to five(5) years’ experience in directing and coordinating annual planning and goals; organization and execution of fundraising,
• Two (2) to five (5) years’ Communications and Public Relations experience,
• Three (3) years’ experience in an administrative position, preferably in a non-profit environment or marine industry,
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working with marine vessels and water craft operation and restoration,
• Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point) and Database management; Raiser’s Edge preferred,
• USCG License preferred,
• Must possess and maintain valid driver’s license in the state of employment and have a driving record that meets the standards of the AMIkids Transportation Policy (CDL may be required based on role).
