Director of Account Management, Key Accounts - Tampa, FL
Sales leadership position responsible for achieving revenue, membership and earnings objectives for the Key Accounts Segments in the assigned market. Direct responsibility for the account management staff in the market and managing the distribution of all the company's products and services to existing account / clients. Develops annual market business plan to meet health plan's revenue, membership and earnings objectives. Provides leadership to account management staff for sales/retention strategy and execution.
Management:
• Manage and monitor client book of business and broker alignment
• Monitor and insure appropriate external activity by SAE’s (broker and groups)
• Driving external relationship cultivation (broker and customer)
• Effectively manage business to achieve Net Promoter goals at both the market and regional level
• Work with Leadership team to develop and manage annual business plan for the market
• Training & coaching of account management staff, new hire and ongoing
• Achieve or exceed health plan persistency goals
• Meet or exceed ancillary and medical NBEA/NCEA membership, revenue and IOI goals
• Recruit, hire and develop account management staff
• Set account management strategy to achieve goals
• Manage Key Account national & local initiatives with respect to EHCV, Network, Health and Wellness strategies
• Liaison for staff & internal functional areas to improve efficiencies & remove barriers
Relationship Building:
• Build and maintain key client and producer relationships
• Develop and maintain key internal relationships
• Present a positive image of UHG to the marketplace
• Ability to build and maintain strong multilevel client and producer relationships
• Ability to build and maintain strong internal relationships

Product/Healthcare Knowledge:
• Detailed understanding of all UHC products, services and solutions across all Florida health plan sites
• Detailed Working knowledge of Enterprise/ancillary product lines

• Understands and can communicate goals, operating principles, strategies and competitive position of UHC
• In-depth healthcare knowledge, understands important trends

• Understands finance/underwriting methodologies and strategies (fully insured, ASO)
• Possesses basic math skills
• Can explain and justify a renewal rate to customers

• Understands the drivers of fees and liabilities

• Understands UHC information systems capabilities and strategies
• Ability to navigate UHC internal departments to produce positive service results for clients and the company

Required Qualifications:
• Sales Insurance License Maintained by Law (or willing to obtain)
• 5 years of successful sales or acct mgt experience in the insurance industry with medical benefits.
• Demonstrated success dealing with brokers/consultants
• Demonstrated success dealing with sophisticated customers
• Demonstrated success meeting goals/targets
• Demonstrated success managing a complex book of business
• Successful track record of strategic planning and implementation
• Maintains Valid Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree
• Previous management experience
