JSnowflake Application Support
The Apps Support Intermediate Analyst is a developing professional role. Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the sub function/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information. Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses' core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.
Responsibilities:
• Have technical expertise on all aspects of Snowflake and deploy following best practices
• Performing Maintenance and Support Activities on a fully operational production grade large scale data solution on Snowflake Data Warehouse.
• Managing Cost of Snowflake Data Warehouse efficiently by tracking the storage and compute costs.
• Estimating the compute processing and memory requirements, and estimates of initial user numbers and projected growth rates.
• Performing Virtual warehouse set up as required for new business units.
• Monitoring the system, and adjusting virtual warehouses (scale-in and scale-out) when appropriate.
• Implementing various backup and recovery techniques in order to ensure quick Disaster recovery.
• Designing solutions to address the needs of both ad-hoc and predefined queries.
• Performing user management activities.
• Managing the environments and ecosystem and tune Snowflake for performance and optimize utilization.
• Work hands-on with customers to demonstrate and communicate implementation best practices on Snowflake technology
• Maintain deep understanding of complementary technologies and help organizations leverage Snowflake as part of their larger technology stack
• Proven understanding of complementary technologies and help organization leverage Snowflake as part of their larger technology stack
• Build, design, architect and implement high-volume, high-scale database and analytics as Snowflake solution in the cloud.
• Migrating Data from On Prem to Cloud having minimum of one year experience
• Worked on Database Warehouse migration project of Snowflake
• Should have experience in shell scripts
• Netezza and Sybase IQ experience is a plus
• Provide 24*7 support.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of DBA including 2 years of Snowflake experience
• Basic knowledge or interest about apps support procedures, concepts and of other technical areas.
• Strong Technical skills must include (but not limited to): Cloud Computing, AWS, Unix, SQL, J2EE Web and shell scripting
• Participation in proactive process improvements.
• Previous experience or interest in standardization of procedures and practices, especially on RDBMS/data warehouse appliances
• Basic Business knowledge/ understanding of financial markets and products.
• Knowledge/experience and adaptability of problem Management Tools.
• Evaluates (sometimes complex) situations using multiple sources of information Developed communication and diplomacy skills to persuade and influence
• Good customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
• Good knowledge of the business and its technology strategy
• Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of issue tracking and reporting using home grown and 3rd party tools
• Must be a proven team-player sharing and cross training technology solutions
• Effectively share information with other support team members and with other technology teams
• Ability to plan and organize workload to meet strict SLAs
Education:
