Being a member of the Financial Reporting & Accounting (FR&A) team, you will be responsible for all global accounting that impacts multiple legal entities across DTCC. The Senior Accountant is responsible for the accounting of several areas including, but not limited to, information technology (IT) accruals, IT prepaid expenses, and fixed assets.
Your Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations for aforementioned areas
• Engage with cross-functional teams in a collaborative way in order to ensure timely and accurate accounting
• Actively participate in DTCC-wide projects, such as reporting systems upgrades and process improvements
• Implement improvements to existing policies and procedures documents for areas of expertise
• Identify control gaps and work with other members of the FR&A team to devise resolution for risk and control process documents
• Assist external and internal auditors with year-end and other audits as needed

Talents Needed for Success:
• 3+ years of progressive accounting or audit experience, either with a major public accounting firm or private industry
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
• CPA or Chartered Accountant preferred
• Intense attention to detail
• Strong sense of curiosity and appetite to learn
• Flexibility in team assignment shifts, willingness to pitch in wherever possible
• High problem solving and analytical skills, ability to connect the dots
• Collaborative approach to problem solving and comfortable working with cross-functional teams
• Fondness towards fixing broken processes and unafraid to challenge the norm
• Solid, fundamental written and verbal communication skills
• Good understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP)
• Awareness of internal controls and COSO requirements
• Exposure to multi-national companies is a plus
• Ability to execute multiple tasks and meet deadlines without the fire drill mentality
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Familiarity with Oracle Cloud a plus
