Financial Planning Manager
Job Function / Summary
Plans, coordinates and supervises the activities of the Financial Planning Team, including profitability and sales; creates an atmosphere of integrity, professionalism, quality and exceptional customer service. Responsible for the growth and development of the Planning Team, improving line of business profitability, providing accurate and superior customer service and for cultivating and coordinating referral business. Serves as liaison between Wealth Advisory and Operations to ensure the company's strategic goals and initiatives are met and/or exceeded. Long-term this position will have partnership potential.
Education / Experience
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance or a related field, post graduate study in the Wealth Management field and at least 10 years related experience.
• Series 7; Series 66 or Series 65 and Series 63; Life and Health licenses for the state(s) where business is conducted strongly preferred.
• Financial industry designation such as Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Certified Wealth Strategist (CWS), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC). Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA), Chartered Trust and Estate Planner (CTEP) and others is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Manages multidisciplinary financial planner team. Financial planner team includes CFP’s, CFA’s, CPA’, and Paraplanners.
• Works with Executive Team to establish sales goals and strategies and assesses unit’s performance against set goals. Develops systems and tools to monitor actual results against goals.
• Accountable for maintaining corporate standards for regulatory compliance, risk management policies and internal financial and operational controls for all activities related to the Financial Planning Team.
• Establishes financial controls and assists with the development of financial forecasts and budgets accordingly
• Compiles and reports financial data as required by the Executive Team.
• Provides advice and guidance to team members and ensures that the actions of all team members adhere to organizational policy.
• Meets with Wealth Management clients and potential clients as needed for new business development and to help achieve organizational goals.
• This position will be a working supervisory position that will transition over time to a dedicated managerial role.
Supervisory Responsibilities
• Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of a team of associates.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding associates and enforcing policy and procedure; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

• Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
• Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions.
• Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions.
