Duties and Responsibilities:
• Collecting of specimen samples from racing animals and following strict chain-of-custody procedures to ensure evidential integrity of test results, which is 80 percent of duties performed.
• Complete correspondence and present information one on one or in small group situations to internal and external customers and other employees in the Division.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to maintain strong, positive relationships with colleagues, internal and external customers, and get along with diverse personalities.
• Ability to read and comprehend correspondence and memos.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally.
• Ability to walk on various surfaces, including concrete and sand for several hours.
• Knowledge of proper lifting techniques and ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
• Must be able to perform work in inclement weather conditions.
• Must be able to work afternoons and evenings, including weekends and holidays, as needed, and previous experience working with large animals is preferred.

NOTE :
• The selected candidate will work approximately 30 hours per week during the racing season at the Tampa Bay Downs race track in Oldsmar, Florida. State Office is located at 11225 Race Track Road, Tampa, Florida.
• Preference will be given to applicants with experience working with large animals.
