CLA is looking to hire an Engagement Director – Tax with our CAST practice to help support our clients on a casual basis. In this role, you can expect to:
• Work alongside our clients as an extension of their team to assist with their tax needs – whether it be in an interim role or project driven.
• Support our clients’ quarterly and annual provision processes as a preparer, reviewer or subject matter expert, depending on your experience.
• Assist a wide variety of small to large clients with Federal, State or International tax compliance requirements.
• Help our clients with special tax projects related to M&A activity, business changes, system implementations or tax planning opportunities.
• Collaborate with individuals on our clients’ accounting and finance teams as a liaison for the clients’ tax department or as a subject matter expert if there is no tax department.
• Maintain technical tax skills through continuing professional education and on the job training.

• Tax is your true passion, although certainly NOT your only thing and you wish there was a way to have more flexibility while also experiencing challenging work.
• You’re pretty darn good at tax and although you can serve in higher level roles, you aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and get into the details.
• You have a knack for solving issues and confidently bring solutions to the table.
• In your bag of tricks, you have a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• You have an active CPA certification. A JD or EA may be accepted in place of CPA certification.
• You’ve worked in public accounting and/or industry for at least five years in at least a manager capacity and have a wide variety of experiences within tax including ASC 740, compliance and consulting.
