The Finance Reporting Lead Analyst is senior professional position responsible for driving the generation, analysis, and submission of reports to various constituencies based on requirements such as US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), US Regulatory, and local statutory reporting, in coordination with the broader Financial Reporting Team. The overall objective is to apply in-depth disciplinary knowledge to contribute to directional strategy.
Responsibilities:
• Support the analysis and submission of reports to various constituencies (local regulators, SEC, Fed, OCC, etc.) based on requirements such as US GAAP, US Regulatory, and local statutory reporting
• Assist with closing the books and sub-ledgers, including passing appropriate required adjustment entries and consolidating financials at the end of each accounting period
• Instill operational discipline into existing team processes
• Work with senior leadership on strategic planning, establishing guidelines, implementing controls, and executing strategic plans
• Mentor and advise on directional strategy by analyzing subject matter and its application within role and the business
• Assist with the implementation of policies and procedures
• Serve as a technical mentor for an area within the business
• Build and maintain a thorough understanding of related product reporting and analytics and utilize knowledge of systems and process flows to provide insight and recommendations on identified issues
• Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
• Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
• Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
• 6-10 years of experience in Financial Services preferred
• Global Project Management experience preferred
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
• Proven organizational and time management skills
• Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
• Master’s degree preferred

The Corporate Regulatory Reporting Group is a high profile function, providing financial information to the regulators including the Federal Reserve Bank (FRB) and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). The Financial Corporate Regulatory Reporting Lead Analyst position is an integral member of the Regulatory Reporting Interpretive Office (RRIO)/Regulatory Reporting Training team within the overall Corporate Regulatory Reporting Group.
Citi’ Regulatory Reporting Interpretive Office (RRIO) has been established enhance the quality and consistency of its regulatory reporting. The purpose of this Office is to provide interpretive guidance on items that may be vague or not specifically addressed in reporting instructions or FAQs, or which may be inconsistent across regulatory reports. Within the RRIO, the Regulatory Reporting Training team is responsible for establishing and maintaining and up-to-date Regulatory Reporting training library, rolling out training to in-scope populations on an ongoing basis.
This position will have opportunities to work directly on a regular basis with Management and will partner closely with other groups throughout Citi, including Risk, Treasury, Controllers, SEC Reporting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Finance & Risk Systems Operations, and Basel teams. In addition, this position will work collaboratively with the Capital Planning Team to help strengthen Citi’s FR Y-14 / Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) reporting processes.
This position will support the oversight, management and administration of Citi’s regulatory reporting training program including:
• Developing, maintaining, and administering program infrastructure (metrics, training population, program documentation)
• Supporting the ongoing maintenance of existing courses to ensure they align with regulatory guidance, meet stakeholder needs, and perform as an effective compensating control for reporting data quality
• Supporting annual training needs and effectiveness assessment and KPI development
• Supporting issue identification exercise to inform training content and population updates
• Supporting training audience identification efforts, monitor and escalate audience participation to meet management’s expectations for compliance
• Supporting a risk-based approach to determine training offerings beyond existing prioritized trainings; support the development of incremental modules as needed
• Supporting FRB and IA reviews as needed, including documentation
• Maintaining strong working relationships with multiple areas across Citi, including SEC Reporting, Treasury, Risk, Accounting Policy, Product Control, Financial Planning and Analysis, FRY-14 Remediation teams and Data Governance Officers
• Maintaining effective and professional relationships with regulators, internal and external auditors.
• Communicating effectively, clearly, concisely and accurately using written and verbal communications for consumption by Management, Regulatory Agencies and Internal/External Auditors.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years of experience within financial services or consulting. Experience with US Regulatory Reporting and familiarity with GAAP/SEC financial reporting preferred
• Strong leadership experience, with the ability to exercise judgment and make decisions
• Strong interpersonal skills including influencing, facilitation, and partnering skills
• Strong oral communication skills and writing skills; the ability to create "user-friendly" communication tools for consumption across organizational levels
• Exceptional analytical ability and metrics/KPI experience required
• Superior attention to detail sufficient to withstand scrutiny of senior executives and auditors
• Flexibility to work under pressure to meet changing work requirements and strict deadlines; willingness to “roll up sleeves” and demonstrate tireless work ethic
• Ability to learn quickly and take initiative in self-development
• Ability to develop effective and productive working relationships with a wide range of groups across Citi as well as external auditors and regulators
• Familiarity with change management preferred
• Experience with systems implementation and automation a plus
• Technology savvy – Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint
