Job Description - Senior ETL Developer
The Information Service Group is seeking AVP - Application Dev Technical Specialist / Lead for a hands on role on Reference Data Team Lead focused on expanding and maintaining firm centralized reference data platforms Security Master Central (SMC) and Price Master Central (PMC) used by Capital Markets division of ICG.
The lead will build and manage a team of senior and junior level ETL developers located in Pune, India.  Lead will be overseeing their deliverables, provide architectural guidance, enforce best Citi practices, conduct code reviews, build support processes, and serve as escalation point during production outages. The lead will be responsible for product design and delivery as well as unit testing, integration testing and regression testing activity and ensuring the software produced by the team does not negatively impact overall SMC/PMC stability. The lead will regularly present project architecture to peers and senior management to ensure consistency with the overall strategy and architecture. A potential candidate will need to understand the big picture when it comes to SMC/PMC as an enterprise reference data solution and understand how all components fit together and impact one another.
Application Dev Technical Specialist will work for Global ETL/Business Intelligence Lead and will closely interact with the program support team including senior development managers, PMO, BA’s and Production Services to ensure smooth on-time delivery and serve as escalation for support teams responsible for live services.
All potential candidates must be able to work in a dynamic team environment which includes developers working with different technologies (such as Java, Web Services and C#/.NET) and across multiple regions.  Candidates have to be able to integrate their data feeds with feeds developed by other team members. Candidate will also be required to develop SQL stored procedures, triggers and non-trivial SQL for data retrieval and manipulation.
Required skills:
• Ab Initio GDE and Co>Op
• UNIX/Linux Shell scripting
• Oracle concepts, SQL, PL/SQL
• SQL performance tuning
• Solid understanding of application infrastructures, including hardware, storage, network, databases, disaster recovery
• Logical thinking, Strong analytical and problem solving skills; innovative and solutions oriented
• Effective time management skills in order to manage multiple priorities with flexibility on time zones and timelines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven experience building scalable, mission critical systems
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience
Nice to have skills- Experience with the following technologies:
• Data modeling
• Tibco EMS and other message oriented middleware
• XML/XSD/XSLT
• Web Services
• Java SE
• Prior industry experience with Reference Data
• Java EE: Servlets, JSP and EJB
• Cobol copybook
Responsibilities :
• Develop and Deliver assigned development projects within agreed schedule, quality and scope expectations
• Participate in all stages of the SDLC within an agile Scrum environment.
• Deliver implementations of vendor products into Citi
• Interact with senior management to define and drive architectural direction
• Enhance/Re-architect existing components to satisfy new performance and scalability requirements
• Provide level 3 (escalation) support for the application
• Ensure all components in the platform are fully compliant with Citi standards.
• Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (electronics) and/or computer science
