JOB DESCRIPTION Safety Compliance
The Organization
Mi Familia Vota/Mi Familia Vota Education Fund (MFV) is a national non-profit organization working to unite the Latino community and its allies to promote social and economic justice through increased civic participation.
We do this by expanding the electorate through direct, sustainable citizenship, voter registration, GOTV and issue-organizing in key states; forming and supporting key alliances at national, state, and local levels to increase civic engagement; providing technical assistance and support to other organizations; and increasing public support for full civic participation in Latino and immigrant communities. We are headquartered in Phoenix, AZ, with field offices in California, Nevada, Colorado, Texas, Florida and Washington, DC. Mi Familia Vota is a
501(c)(4) organization, and Mi Familia Vota Education Fund is a 501(c)(3).
The Position
Mi Familia Vota/Mi Familia Vota Education Fund (MFV) is currently recruiting for the position of Safety
Compliance. This is a mid-level supervisory position. We are seeking candidates with an interest in safety, who is detail-oriented, able to work independently, and willing to share their knowledge and skills to maintain a healthy environment.
The Safety Compliance Associate will work closely with the State Director, as well as National Team to plan, implement and manage the organization's safety protocols.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
In conjunction with Covid-19 ( Compliance Officer/Safety Associate ) will be responsible for ensuring that all members of the organizations for the State/City where they are located COVID-19 policies and practices are implemented and adhered to.
Monitor and enforce all MFV, federal, state and local regulations, guidelines, protocols and policies/procedures relating to the safeguarding of staff, volunteers, venders, clients and public from potentially spreading Covid 19 throughout any face-to-face interaction,
Ensuring team members are deployed appropriately, tasks are delegated and completed, while all safety protocols are being followed.
Administer screenings (if applicable in the form of medical questionnaires and temperature checks using non-contact infrared thermometers) to all staff, volunteers, venders and clients who may be on MFV premises and or have access to
MFV offices must be subject to the screening protocols and interpret results in order to determine viability for entry.
Follow HIPPA guidelines/regulations while handling confidential information discovered during screening.
Report cases of positive and negative responses according to established protocols while remaining cognizant of appropriate reporting requirements.
Manage and ensure the hygiene, routine cleaning and disinfection of work areas, temporary stages, equipment and workspaces, and identify when hygiene and cleaning practices need to be amended or expanded.
Ensure that initial training and ongoing education to staff, volunteers, venders and affiliated clients relating to
Infectious Disease precautions and productivity policy is conducted and validated. This will include on site Covid safety meetings.
Work in conjunction with MFV management team/stakeholders to review reports, metrics, findings and recommendations based on any areas the might have been compromised and make recommendation regarding
Infectious Disease protection requirements and safeguarding.
Monitor key points of entry, egress and traffic flow areas to ensure proper social distancing. Place signage at each location.
Manage the procurement, distribution and recorded inventory of personal protective and hygiene equipment.
Provide reports to Covid-19 Compliance Officer or MFV Authorized personnel (i.e. Upper management and HR Director) regarding concerns, violations, and compliance.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in State & Federal Health & Safety guidelines required.
• Health Education Services Covid-19 training certification (in progress) required.
• Basic knowledge of safety and health standards and regulations required.
• Previous Medical/Nursing/PA experience preferred.
Advanced OSHA Health & Safety experience preferred and desired.
• Understanding of OSHA reporting (i.e.300, 300A, 301) log record keeping
• Basic knowledge of IIPP
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to adapt to varying work environments, possesses a strong pro-active work ethic and quickly adapt to new responsibilities
• Ability to manage and effectively communicate escalated issues.
• Ability to advise and guide staff to implement changes necessary in a timely manner.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts and procedures.
Strong time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills coupled with the ability to work independently while being an integral member of a fast-paced, high-functioning, results oriented team; ability to work calmly under pressure.
• Ability to work well in a team environment as a people person who can manage with confidence, maintain policy/protocol with staff, and operate with authority when needed.
• Ability and comfort when speaking to groups and providing training is essential.
• A willingness to work a flexible schedule (work is based on a industry schedule) required.
Managing risk and risk assessment
• identify what work activity or situations might cause transmission of the virus
• think about who could be at risk
• decide how likely it is that someone could be exposed
• act to remove the activity or situation, or if this isn’t possible, control the risk
Qualifications:
• 1 year of proven medical training,
• 1 year of State & Federal Health & Safety guidelines
• Minimum 10 to 30 hours of OSHA guidelines
• Current CDC guidelines
Preferred Qualifications:
• B.S. in Management or related field
• Past experience working in the medical field
• Experience with Non-Profit Organizations
• Supervisory experience
• State & Federal Health & Safety Certification
• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Cultural competency

Preferred Qualifications:
• B.S. in Management or related field
• Past experience working with Voter Activation Network or Catalist voter databases.
• Ability to work campaign style hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• Knowledge of the Latino electorate
• Experience with Non-Profit Organizations
• Supervisory experience
Salary: Commensurate with Experience
