Regional Project Controls Manager

The Regional Project Controls Manager is responsible for all aspects of project accounting for a specific region or group of regions, maintaining all aspects of project data entry and its associated control environment for Pike Engineering.  He or she will review, and process financial transactions related to managing a project including costs, billing and revenue.  The project accountant position is accountable for monitoring the progress of projects, investigating variances, approving expenses, and ensuring that project billings are issued to customers and payments collected.
ESSENTI A L DUTIE S A ND RESPONSIBILITIE S :
 Supervise team responsible for all regional project accounting activities
 Create, document and analyze project accounting processes for region
 Supervise monthly project accounting and month end closing activities
 Interrogate financial data within the office, including, but not limited to, tracking of project-level work in progress (WIP) & A/R, office profitability, purchasing card usage and coding, and monthly approval and accrual of subcontractor invoices.
 Analyze cost data, estimate financial performance of the project and provide revenue recognition
 Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of overall project budget and financial status
 Conduct monthly review process with project managers to evaluate project performance
 Work with accounting and contract administration to prepare project accounting set-up
 Monitor the coding of time sheets, purchase orders, and vendor invoicing
 Facilitate weekly/monthly/milestone invoice generation
 Journal entry prep and standard accruals

QUALIFICATIONS :

2. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Required High school degree or GED.
Required A Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or University in Business or experience equivalent to 5 years.
Preferred Master’s Degree in Business or Data Analytics.
Experience
3-5 Year(s) Experience in project controls, project management, accounting
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: N/A ON-THE-JOB TRAINING:
2 weeks of training in various systems and processes.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
A.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
B.Ability to write reports, Business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
C. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS :
1.Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percent and to draw and interpret spreadsheets
2.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance. 3.Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY :
A.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions.
B.Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
•   Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
•   High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
•   Proficient data entry skills, strong interpersonal skills
•   Experience with Solomon/Dynamics is a plus
•   Experience with Oracle is preferred
