LSF is looking for a talented Network Administrator who wants to make an impact in the lives of children and families.
Purpose & Impact
The Network Administrator installs, administers and maintains servers at LSF offices. They also design, develop, recommend for implementation, enforce and maintains computer security procedures. Reviews and analyzes hardware and software needs, recommending changes and upgrades where applicable. Recommends level of support services needed by an outside vendor. Accountable for software/hardware training and support to the Information Technology Dept. (IT) staff. Provides support for all IT related equipment in designated regions. Provides computer support to LSF employees.
A Day in The Life of a Network Administrator
• Maintains, documents and enforces Backup Procedures as established in LSF policies manual. Assist Network Administrator and IT Manager with quarterly review of the Disaster Recovery – Business Continuity Plan to ensure the highest possible data availability, integrity and recoverability.
• Installs, administers and maintains all hardware (servers, PC’s, laptops, thin clients, network devices) and software.
• Maintain and support Windows servers, Security appliances, and VOIP systems
• Enforce security and anti-virus procedures for all Agency servers, routers and other appliances as needed.
• Document and maintain related procedures, system policies, software configurations, user profiles, etc.
• Triage network and computer issues and bring to resolution.
• Maintain and support infrastructure systems for voice and data communications.
• Assist employees over the phone to bring resolution to reported issues, while providing excellent customer service.
• Provide updated documentation, ensure continuity of business plans and standard operating procedures.
• Document and maintain incident logs (email, Internet, and web presence downtime; others as defined by supervisor).
• Maintain a current knowledge of new and existing technologies to ensure the Agency is utilizing lowest cost/most effective technologies.
• Develop and maintain a network of hardware and software experts that can be utilized to problem solve, recommend new concepts and consult.
• Provide both on-site and on-line support to LSF users.
• Review, advise and concur in the acquisition of all related hardware and software.
• Develop (with IT Manager) an implementation plan for all planned tasks under his area of responsibility.
• Performs other similar or related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
• Frequent travel out of town (statewide) as needed, with or without notice.
• Must have reliable transportation, with liability insurance for business use of the vehicle.
• Able to lift and move around standard computer equipment (up to 50 pounds)
Qualifications
Required/Preferred Education and Experience
• Associate degree in a related field.
• Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certifications.
• VMware Certified Associate (VCA) certification.
• Three years’ experience in administration in PC and Server support in a network environment.
Competencies (Skills/Knowledge & Abilities)
• Understanding of TCP/IP, subnets, routing, access control lists, security, firewalls, network traffic analysis, DNS, Virtualization, Backups, Azure Services, Scripting, Microsoft operating systems, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, Licensing, IIS, Group Policy, SSH, and SQL.
• Self-motivation and the ability to proactively identify areas of needed improvement.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent troubleshooting and scripting tools
• Team player with co-workers and Central Services office staff.
• Adherence to Agency policies and management practices.
• Must demonstrate sensitivity to our service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs.
