Full Job Description
This is a position for a general accounting position with a local company. This position will require skills for both accounts receivable and accounts payable.
Typical Tasks
- Analysis and reconciliation of general ledger accounts as requested.
- Assistance with preparation of year end working papers files.
- Preparation of bank reconciliations.
- Employee expense reporting for salaried and hourly employees including receipt, review, and payment of expense reports received.
- Assist and participate in various projects as determined by Controller.
- Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Updating and maintaining records of expenditures.
- Responding to vendor invoices.
- Ensuring that all payments are made timely and in accordance with company policy.
- Resolving payment discrepancies and disputes on behalf of the company.
- Preparing and mailing invoices to customers.
- Assist in the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations for all payroll-related accounts. Analyze and resolve payroll discrepancies by researching, validating and correcting data provided to the Accounting department.
- Responsible for assisting in the weekly tax tie-out, reconciliation and processing of payroll tax files.
- Additional responsibilities include balancing and reporting Weekly, Quarterly & Annual taxes external/internal vendor maintenance, and proactively recommending and executing best practices to optimize payroll tax processes.
- The position will be responsible for processing, coding, and approving invoices using 3-way match. We are looking for a person who can not only process, but analyze and identify errors in the invoices. - Processing direct deposits, EFTPS tax payments.
- Assists Accounting with payroll and HR management with ensuring strict tax compliance.
Qualifications
- Requires a two or four year degree in accounting.
- Two to three years minimum experience in accounting is required. Prior experience in manufacturing is a plus.
- Experience with Quickbooks
- Experience in Outlook or another email program is critical to success.
- Ability and interest to operate in a fast-paced environment as the company focuses on growth.
- Solid communication skills, time management skills, and experience managing other accounting personnel.
- Ability and interest to operate in a dynamic environment as the company re-tools its processes and looks to grow aggressively. As such, the company is looking for someone that enjoys operating in an environment of continuous improvement, and believes that strong process development can increase efficiency, improve productivity, and reduce errors; Focus on proactive management and processes, vs. reactive management and fire-fighting.
- Must be comfortable in using and learning the DacEasy accounting platform and Quickbooks and operating in a multi-company accounting environment.
