3Core Systems is looking for AS400 developer for one of our clients in Tampa, FL
Position:  AS400 developer
Location: Tampa, FL
Duration: 6 Months
Description: Key Qualifications and Requirements:
• 15+ years experience programming in RPG 400, RPGLE, CL, SQL and embedded SQL
• Must be proficient programming subfiles, creating screens using SDA
• Experience in ILE working with prototypes, procedures, modules, service programs, binding directory and binder language is required
• Experience in using the following tools is also required. Turnover, Hawkeye, Mercury
• Excellent Communication skills (verbal & written)
• Available 24x7 - will do whatever it takes to get the job done
• Available to night time support according to the On-Call rotation Schedule
• Analyzes business from all perspectives
• Identify, resolve and/or create solutions for all computer-related needs of the corporation
• Recommend enhancements and translate all requests into a programmable form for electronic data processing
• This position requires excellent communication and problem resolution skills
• Critical nature of this job may require extended hours
• Team player, energetic, self-starter, motivator
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• User Interaction
• Meets with users for application analysis, demonstrations and training
• Meets with users to design and develop complex new applications which make efficient use of the system resources
• Meets with users to develop enhancements to existing production systems that will have a positive impact to the company
• Production Maintenance and Support
• Analyzes, designs, tests, installs, documents and maintains computer application programs which are of a complex nature
• Works as a team member on broader or more complex projects.
• Ensures that regular maintenance jobs are scheduled through the operations area and that correct back-out procedures are also under control of operations
• Responds within established policies and procedures to calls or inquiries from user personnel to resolve current hardware or software problems
• Researches, tests and installs new and upgraded systems and application software and hardware
• Will be part of the On-Call rotation.
• Quality Assurance
• Develops all programs and systems in accordance with SGWS methodology and programming standards
• Responsible for unit testing of programs
• Responsible for integration testing on other systems
• Project Management
• Analyzes work flow processes and develops recommendations for improvements and solutions using automated systems
• Maintains documentation for installation and maintenance
• Knowledge Transfer
• Provides assistance to computer operations and application programming staff in the diagnosis of complex technical problems
• Provides consultation services to computer operations and application programming staff on the efficient use of system resources and efficient application design
• Other Responsibilities
• Performs other work-related duties, as assigned.
• May be required to travel from time to time.
