Job Description
Description Position Overview:
The IT Support Specialist will provide technical support to desktop end users of local area network and workstations, including but not limited to: Responding to, troubleshooting, and correcting issues related to workstations and/or software-related requests. In addition to workstation support, network and voice/video troubleshooting may be required. This role is responsible for providing support to the organization and timely resolution of critical and non-critical issues.
Critical Success Criteria:
• Effectively identify and resolve support issue based on business criticality.
• Provide resolution to mission critical issues in order to maximize our customer’s productivity and up time.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, moves/adds/changes, knowledge “how-to’s” and articles for our user’s assistance.
• Identify and track all company IT assets throughout the life cycle of the asset.
• Contribute on projects that align with both IT goals and initiatives as well as company goals and initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Support, install, upgrade, patch, and maintain local area network software and hardware
• Respond in a timely manner to the needs and questions of network users concerning operation and issues related to software and hardware
• Provide desktop hardware/software troubleshooting
• Support software programs including but not limited to: Microsoft Office 2010-2013, Windows 2007-2012 Server, and Windows 7 (and newer) Workstations
• Organize and maintain information concerning network and workstations
• Organize and maintain Server Room and IT areas
• Assist in the maintenance and tracking of company hardware
Requirements:
• Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field from accredited school
• Previous IT helpdesk support work experience
• Solid interpersonal and customer service skills
• Technical knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010/2013 (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and web browser applications
• Knowledge of installation of Windows Operating Systems and software
• Knowledge of supporting computers, loading device drivers and configuring a stable system
• Knowledge of researching and troubleshooting computer errors, blue screens, etc.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field from accredited College or University preferred, but not required
• 3 years of previous IT helpdesk support experience preferred, but not required
• A+ / NET + Certification preferred, but not required
