The Technical Accounting Manager will understand, interpret and provide technical accounting guidance in relation to complex business transactions and new U.S. accounting standards and SEC rules for the Company to ensure compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations. This position will lead the implementation efforts related to new U.S. accounting standards and SEC rules for Mosaic Business Services, lead and/or perform research and document complex accounting issues related to GAAP, audit and external reporting matters. In addition, this person will work closely with the Senior Director, MBS on special projects as assigned as well as leading technical accounting trainings for the Mosaic Business Services Team.
What will you do?
• Assess complex, new or unusual business transactions and provide recommended accounting treatment in accordance with the applicable accounting standards. Partner closely with the Senior Manager, Accounting Research on complex accounting issues.
• Lead and/or perform research and develop documentation of complex accounting issues related to US GAAP and SEC external reporting matters. Assist in leading audit requirements for Mosaic’s North American entities.
• Understand, interpret and lead technical implementations of new accounting standards. Lead the implementation efforts related to new U.S. accounting standards and SEC rules for Mosaic Business Services.
• Monitor and implement appropriate accounting policy and process changes throughout the Company to ensure compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations. Ensure that the accounting policies owned by Mosaic Business Services and critical accounting estimates are compliant with US accounting and reporting standards.
• Work on special projects as required and lead technical accounting training.
What do you need for this role?
• Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• CPA required.
• 8+ years of experience in finance, including:
• 5+ years of leadership experience (i.e. leading teams, leading projects, etc.).
• 5+ years of public accounting experience with a large firm
• Extensive and in-depth working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to:
• Communicate complex issues effectively to finance and non-finance individuals

• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, Project, Sharepoint)

• Ability to adapt to a continually changing business and work environment and manage multiple priorities
• Adept at meeting established deadlines – a strong sense of urgency
