The College of Social Sciences, Mathematics and Education at The University of Tampa has an opening for a Staff Assistant II in its Education department.  The successful candidate will provide administrative and clerical support services to faculty and staff in a fast paced environment. This position will report to the Dean of the college.
Responsibilities
1. Maintain accurate, detailed files of students in the Teacher Education Program to comply with FLDOE and national accreditation standards. Monitor and regularly update data sets on student academic progress each semester.
2. Process all incoming invoices, check requisitions, purchase orders, expense reports and accounts payable related functions.
3. Regularly update revisions for student and intern handbooks.
4. Maintain electronic record of all course syllabi.
5. Assist with LiveText rubric and syllabi updates.
6. Provide telephone and administrative support to the Education Department faculty and students. Daily interaction with faculty, students and staff. Ability to maintain confidentiality and rapport with students and their families, and direct inquiries appropriately.
7. Make logistical arrangements for department-sponsored events.
8. Order course textbooks and office supplies.
9. Maintain office equipment, scanners, fax and photocopiers.
10. Assist with on-site review process.
11. Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures and backgrounds.
Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Minimum 3 years previous clerical experience.
3. Proficiency with MS Office required; FileMaker Pro and/or other database management preferred.
4. Ability to multi-task with attention to detail and accuracy.
5. Good verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills necessary, as well as the ability to establish priorities and manage time wisely.
6. Knowledge of or the ability to learn quickly The University of Tampa enterprise software programs such as Workday, Microsoft Office and LiveText.
7. Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices.

Pay Rate
$16.00 per hour
Work Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Summer – Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.
