Position Summary:
The Senior Leadership Consultant - Learning and Development will develop, drive, and implement various leadership development tools and programs to teach and promote strong leadership and teambuilding skills (i.e., soft skills) at various levels and business areas within BRP. This entails partnering with business areas, analyzing existing leadership and team dynamics, researching the latest leadership trends, designing, developing, delivering and implementing standardized and customized leadership development tools, and procuring training solutions aimed at improving leadership and team performance. This position is also responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the BRP onboarding program (all phases from pre-hire through the first 90 days on the job) and ensuring that new BRP colleagues receive a premier culture immersion experience.
This position is responsible for consulting with business area leaders (i.e., Presidents, Managing Partners, Managing Directors, Business Directors) to analyze existing leadership and team dynamics and provide targeted and customized individual, teambuilding and coaching/leadership development programs. This person will also consult with the Chief Colleague Officer and COO to establish objectives for organizational soft skill programs such as high-potential development programs, mentoring programs, etc., including designing, developing, and implementing such programs and facilitating train-the-trainer and/or internal certification sessions for designated facilitators.
Principal Responsibilities:
• Conducting needs assessments and gap analyses to determine the objectives required to address the learning opportunity and how best to meet the strategic goals
• Developing customized course models (both high-level and detailed) illustrating course and learner objectives
• Researching content and consulting with business area leaders (e.g., conducting focus groups or observing team dynamics, evaluating vendors, evaluating leadership publications, etc.)
• Identifying all deliverables associated with an initiative such as design documents, facilitator’s guides, student materials, visual aids, CBTs, and reference materials
• Evaluating each course or solution and deciding the appropriate leader level that should participate in the program or receive the development opportunity
• Developing content (including all materials/visuals necessary to support objectives, such as participant materials, audio/visual presentations, videos, self-study guides, facilitator’s guide, etc.
• Developing and facilitating pilot programs to evaluate newly developed solutions and tools
• Facilitating courses and teambuilding activities to lines of business (for example, facilitating The 7 Habits for of Highly Effective People during annual leadership retreat)
• Developing learning assessments designed to evaluate how leaders apply the content, and determine the appropriate follow-up steps if needed
• For externally purchased leadership services, coordinating with vendors to facilitate the execution of various programs and managing the logistics including communication, scheduling, and evaluating feedback from participants
• For externally purchased leadership services, managing the vendor contracting process and terms and overseeing the quality of work from vendors and suppliers
Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Systems Design, Adult Education, Human Resources, or similar related analytical field
• Preferred: Master’s degree in Instructional Systems Design or Adult Education
• Preferred Industry certifications such as:
• CPLP (Certified Professional in Learning and Performance)
• COLF (certified online facilitator)
• CPT (certified performance technologist)
• CPTM (certified professional in training management)
• At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in creating effective leadership (soft skills) programs from scratch, including
• Designing course models
• Defining program, course, and learner objectives
• Developing content (in a variety of formats)
• Experience in leading training projects from initiation to implementation (writing scope documents, creating design documents, developing effective presentations, creating training deliverables, creating change management plans).
• At least 3 to 5 years’ experience writing and editing documents in preparation for publication
