Job Summary
This position is integral to the success of HCD’s commitment to conducting its business in compliance with the applicable laws, regulations and requirements of a DME supplier. The Compliance Associate will be responsible for responding to internal compliance requests primarily related to product reimbursement and payer coverage. The Compliance Associate will also assist with licensing, accreditation, credentialing and enrollment matters. Performs assigned and other tasks in support of HCD’s and the Department’s initiatives and business goals.
Essential Duties
• Research and respond to HCD Compliance Requests accurately and timely.
• Research contracts, payer requirements and payer manuals to correctly establish payers in PayerPro.
• Assist with completing, tracking and reporting on Medicare/Medicaid correspondence, applications, credentialing and other related materials.
• Provide support to the department in responding to external payer audits.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Department teammates, as well as other cross-functional departments in order to solve issues and respond to questions.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and appropriately in both a written and verbal format.
• Uses applicable HCD systems proficiently in the course of assigned duties.
• Manages deadlines and priorities effectively with little supervision.
• Proven problem solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Develops and expands knowledge of healthcare regulations relevant to the company’s business operations.
• Must be self-directed, adept at juggling multiple projects and comfortable in a fast-paced work environment.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
• Performs all other duties as assigned, which may vary at any time with or without notice.
Education and Experience
• Bachelors’ degree strongly preferred.
• Experience or certification as a paralegal a plus.
• Three years’ comparable work experience in health care, DME supplier, or law office.
• Familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid/commercial payer regulations.
