We are looking for a skilled CNC Plasma Burn Machine Operator to set up, maintain and operate machinery. You’ll ensure the interminable and efficient running of production. A great machine operator is reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. On-the-job training is a good way to discover how to do the job better, so you should have willingness to learn and improve. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers. The goal will be to ensure that production procedures will be carried on smoothly to maximize efficiency and profits.
Responsibilities
• Operate a CNC Plasma Burning Machine;
• Unload Steel Trucks & Place Steel Plates in Plate Racks;
• Load Plates onto Burning Machine Table;
• Burn or Plasma Parts to Desired Shape;
• Measure Parts for Accuracy;
• Grind Off Burnt Edges to Remove Burrs;
• Mark Parts and Palletize for Fab Shops;
• Operate Overhead Cranes and Fork Lifts.
Skills
• Must Have Prior Experience Operating a Burn Machine;
• Or a Minimum of 2 Years Fabrication Shop Experience;
• Must Be Able to Operate Overhead Cranes;
• Must Have the Ability to Read and Understand Drawings;
• Must Have Good Working Knowledge of Computers;
• Must Have Strong Knowledge of Custom Fabrication and Machine Shop Procedures;
• Must Be Able to Use Power and Hand Tools, Hand Torches, Air Arcs, Grinders and Other Shop Tools;
• Must Have a Strong Work Ethic, Be Dependable, and Responsible;
• Must Have the Ability to Work Independently and Multi Task in a Fast Paced Environment.
Preferred Skills
• Knowledge of Autocad, Sigmanest & ProNest Program;
• Fitting, Welding and/or Machining Skills.
Work Hours
• Typical Work Days are Monday - Friday
• Typical Work Hours are 6:30 am - 3:00 pm CST (30 min. lunch break)
• Overtime and Weekend Work is Determined by Production Demands
