Job Description Job Description The primary purpose the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is to assist the Director of Nursing in planning organizing, developing, and directing the day-to-day function of the Nursing Service Department in accordance with current federal, state, OSHA, and local nursing standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our Facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator, the Medical Director, and/or the Director of Nursing Services to ensure the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
The ADON will also assist in managing the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the nursing care provided to the residents through direct oversight, coaching, and supervision of the staff nurses and certified nursing assistants to ensure that the highest quality services are delivered in a resident-centered environment.
The ideal candidate is organized, friendly, energetic and can effectively multi-task. ADONs should be able to manage staff, make decisions independently and be able to accurately document as needed. Candidates should be able to evaluate, perform and adjust resident care as needed. You must be able to work with various departments and personalities while maintaining professionalism at all times.
