Reports to: Youth & Family Programs Manager
Summary
Assist families with their children who have at-risk behavioral problems to become emotionally self-sufficient by coordinating family counseling and treatment services, and by utilizing problem-solving techniques to overcome their barriers. This will consist of conducting diagnostic assessments, compiling treatment plans, writing clinical case notes, as well as providing individual, family, and group counseling to youth and their families. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to; crisis intervention, case management, consumer advocacy and prevention, and education. Must be a licensed or license eligible counselor.
Essential Job Functions
A. Learn and adhere to Tampa Housing Authority’s Policies and Procedures as outlined, as well as the State of Florida, Florida Network of Youth and Family Services Grant (FNYFS) operating guidelines, and be knowledgeable of changes as instructed by supervisor, local, state or federal partner(s).
B. Coordination of Treatment Services – Coordination of Treatment Services – Coordinate all treatment services associated with the Department of Program and Property Services in partnership with FNYFS and other assigned duties. These will also entail coordinating counseling, treatment services and referrals as needed for the prospective program participants. The program services and case management process should be factored into the following categories: Services – At-risk Youth, Educational Services (academic and behavioral), Counseling Services, Life Skills and Self-Improvement.
• Screen families to identify and assess youth needs, determine when interviews are appropriate, and schedule appointments. This function includes making referrals for behavioral, treatment services, or other community services as appropriate.
• Conduct screenings with youth as needed and as advised by supervisor, case manager and/or partners to assess and update families’ eligibility to receive other community services or resources.
• Attend weekly meetings to receive coaching and counseling on program services and quality assurance of related areas; that will identify needs and barriers the achievement of youth development.
• Independently manage and maintain youth case file as required by FNYFS in documenting case management and assistance data, and client eligibility of community services or resources.
• Complete all appropriate documents, and record casework activities completed on a daily basis as required. Record other statistical data, as needed by grantor, such as compiling reports, maintaining intake or referral logs.
• Maintain up to date files on youth to include health information, physical impairments, limitations, physician, next of kin, activity participation, etc.
• Facilitate the maintenance of complete clinical records and develop case plans for clients under their supervision to ensure compliance, as outlined in the Policy and Procedure Manual provided by the grantor.
• Assures that quality counseling and case management services are delivered to eligible children and families, including promoting ongoing involvement of the child and parent at all stages of the case management process

• Performs periodic quality assurance checks on client files.
• Perform other assigned duties as requested.
C. Maintains appropriate State Licensure and or eligibility status
• Maintains client and family rights to confidentiality in compliance with State and Federal Laws.
• Regularly participates in meetings with other program staff and community partners.
• Prepares reports within timelines provided by grantor to ensure updates are conveyed regarding agency-related issues.
• Represent the agency on committees; attend meetings throughout the service area to promote the program, its vision and the fundamental principles as outlined by the grantor.

• Comfortable working with children with mental illness, their families and other mental health professionals
• Ability to work within a community agency environment to provide effective, high quality services in a manner that respects the dignity and concerns of each individual
• Knowledge of particular mental disorders of childhood
• Working knowledge of a broad range of services needed by families with children experiencing mental health issues, including but not exclusive to being mentally handicapped and/or developmentally delayed.
Minimum Qualifications
• Master’s degree in social sciences, social work, or closely related field plus one year of clinical experience working with families and children.
• Board certified (eligible to take Licensed Clinical Social Worker examination within two years of hire date).
• One year of supervisory experience with a social service agency preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
• Valid Florida Driver’s License
• Insurable under the agency’s insurance policy
• Must be able to clear FDLE Background Screening
Salary: $45,000
