Moffitt Cancer Center is recruiting for a Sr. Core Staff Scientist in the Cancer Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics Core (PK/PD Core), in Tampa, FL. About the Core:### The Cancer Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics Core (PK/PD Core) at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute aims to provide broad spectrum of high quality and cost-effective services including in vitro ADME and PK, physicochemical profiling, bioanalytical method development, analysis of drugs and metabolites in bodily fluids and tissues, and PD endpoints quantification in preclinical studies as well as for early phase clinical trials. Position Highlights: The Sr.Scientist will lead the Cancer PK/PD Core to characterize and optimize ADME/PK of the lead small molecules within Moffitt#s oncology drug discovery pipeline, coordinate PK-driven lead optimization to deliver suitable compounds as preclinical candidates, and ultimately into clinical development # The Ideal Candidate: At least three years of relevant industrial experience within the pharmaceutical industry in an ADME/PK settings Track record of successful contributions to development, execution, and fostering of translational PK/PD relationships studies on a small molecule drug discovery program Hands-on experience and strong troubleshooting skills for LC-MS/MS bioanalysis Strong mentoring and leadership skills, with emphasis on developing and coaching junior scientists under direct supervision to build a high-performing team Responsibilities: Implementation, validation and development of a suitable ADME/PK screening assays to support lead optimization small molecule drug discovery projects Develop and execute scientific strategies to address ADME challenges on discovery and development programs Assay quality monitoring, data release and sharing Provide scientific feedback and guidance on chemical modifications that may improve ADME properties to advance investigators programs; #prioritizing and executing on key deliverables and project needs Coordinate, direct and mentor the ADME/PK team Implement innovative ADME/PK technologies and approaches to enhance scientific impact and/or efficiencies Qualifications # Experience: Required: Masters degree, minimum 7 years + experience (core facility, biotech, pharmaceutical contract research) (or) PhD and 5 years experience (core facility, biotech, pharmaceutical contract research) Track record of successful contributions to development, execution and fostering of translation PK/PD relationship studies on a small molecule drug discovery program Preferred: PhD and 5 years experience (core facility, biotech, pharmaceutical contract research) Preferred: People The position facilitates close partnership with disciplines such as medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, toxicology, and cancer biology to design promising clinical therapeutic candidates against cancer targets, conduct preclinical development studies, and support clinical evaluation #
