General Description
This is an OPS Registered Nurse position responsible for conducting an initial Infection Prevention Control (IPC) assessment and ongoing contact and guidance on COVID isolation, preventative education, resident testing, and focused infection prevention assessments at designated facilities with congregate settings and at-risk populations for COVID-19. Ensure all activities surrounding response to a COVID positive case are conducted expeditiously. Works as a team member in the Long-Term Care Facility Task Force (LTCF-TF) to meet and exceed established expectations for this initiative.
Specific Job Responsibilities of the OPS Registered Nurse • Receives initial notification from Epidemiology Department indicating the need for an Infection Prevention Control (IPC) assessment
• Ensures reports are shared and uploaded to SharePoint
• Ensures completeness of Infection Prevention (IP) assessments and/or AHCA complaint requests and their submission to IMT Lead
• Ensures appropriate coordination with assessed facility for any follow-up visits by IP Teams
• Participates on scheduled LTCF TF conference calls
• Stays current in infection prevention, ICAR tool, CDC/AHCA guidelines as it relates to COVID-19 in LTCF, proper COVID-19 specimen collection, PPE use, internal LTCF process
Qualifications • Associate degree in nursing (ADN)
• Ability to make decisions
• Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments
• Ability to handle face-to-face public interactions with potentially frustrated, emotional and/or uncooperative customers
• Ability to demonstrate cultural and diversity competence
• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with others
• Ability to follow instructions
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
• Ability to operate commonly used office equipment such as computers, printers, fax machine, label maker, paper shredder
• Ability to use Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, MS Teams)
Licensure/Registration/Certification Requirements • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464 or possess a nursing multi-state license through the Nurse Licensure Compact
• Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR certification
• Valid Florida Driver's license
Other Job-related requirements • Immunization screening upon hire
• Annual TB screening
• Working hours: A). Daily from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday thru Friday, B) Weekends and evenings, C) 29 or more hours per week
• Have reliable transportation to use for work related purposes and to claim travel reimbursement
