Physician Partners of America (PPOA) is an established and growing multidisciplinary integrated healthcare organization. We have multiple locations in both Texas and Florida with our corporate headquarters in Tampa, FL.
We are looking for an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center team.
Responsibilities
• Understands surgical procedures; able to properly execute scrub duties and anticipate surgeons' needs
• Preps the operative suite for surgery by checking and assembling supplies
• Maintains instruments and ensures in proper working order
• Aware of surgical field and reports and breaks in sterile technique to attending surgeon and RN circulator
• Follows safety protocols to ensure asepsis is preserved while handling instruments, sponges, sutures, drains, needles and dressings
• Ensures instrument count is completed when indicated and prior to patient leaving the OR
• Removes drapes at procedure conclusion and assists in transition of patient to PACU
Qualifications
• High School graduate or equivalent
• Graduate of approved Surgical Technologist School with certification
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification
• Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served in the Center
• Effective communicator-- appreciates and respects others’ needs, opinions, and concerns
