What you’ll be doing...
Verizon GTS organization is looking for a Director of HR Transformation for the Corporate Systems Group Organization that will be responsible for building, leading, and managing a team of system designers/analysts, architects, developers, and consultants. There will be a primary focus on integrating the chosen HR SAAS platform into our existing ecosystem of applications across Verizon. There will also be responsibility for application development and maintenance for any custom HR business process that is not available via the SAAS platform. As a Technology leader, this individual will be responsible for the HR Technology strategy, architecture, and build-out of the next gen HR platform. This position will assume overall accountability of the GTS specific HCM deliverables and manage all the system integrations across GTS. The position will manage a global ecosystem of teams and partners, and must be capable of recruiting, leading, inspiring and mentoring high-performing talent.
Business & Vendor Partnership- Build strong partnerships with internal customers, peers & vendors to establish trusting relationships; strives to understand goals of business/technology, takes broad POV, effectively manages requests and helps to understand tradeoffs and make difficult decisions.
Change Agent- Effectively presents technology strategy to internal customers, and technology peers to differentiate and improve customer experience in proactive manner; take rational feedback and seeks to understand their viewpoints
Team Leader- Develops clear goals for the team and aligns the business benefits behind them to drive results; focuses on enabling the team to make decisions and demonstrates support for their team.
Talent Developer- seeks to understand direct reports career aspirations, strength and opportunity areas before providing guidance; defines capabilities and expectations for role(s) based on needs; provides context on situations when provide feedback
Job Responsibilities
Drive and assume responsibility for the GTS’s deliverables across the multi-year HCM SAAS implementation
Create and lead a "Build-Buy-Partner" Technology model to accelerate HR and Employee Experience solutions
Engage with business partners to refine requirements and strategies to help drive business goals/objectives and lead the team to deliver and support innovative digital technology solutions to meet business goals.
Determine where and when to integrate and leverage next gen digital tools (RPA, AI/ML & Big Data).
Build Dev-sec-ops & Agile delivery practices, processes, and tools, driving "platform first" principles across all HR custom development.
Design and drive a new operational model that will span across the new SAAS provider, multiple GTS orgs, vendor solutions, and a global workforce. Laser focus on day2day operational excellence and the enablement of proactive issue monitoring and resolution.
Develop, implement and maintain a team organization that ensures skills and capacity for project and enhancement work while providing superior support for production applications.
Implement best practices in information technology, development processes, and software architecture.
Ensure business area requests for application development services are understood, prioritized, and addressed.
Allocate skilled resources for project and enhancement requests as well as day-to-day operations.
Take rational risk and promote a risk-aware culture and ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.
Maintain productive management level relationships with Verizon's business functions.
Ensure high availability of production systems and performance is at the highest level and operates without defects.
What we’re looking for...
Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field. Masters preferred.
15+ years of Solution Design, Application/Software Development, Enterprise Integration and Application Consulting/Implementation Services.
Demonstrated experience with managing large scale multi-year technical implementations.
5+ years’ experience in HR/Payroll business processes.
5+ years of hands on experience with HCM software (SAP, Oracle, Workday)
Strong management experience with multi-tiered applications.
Moderate implementation knowledge of emerging technologies and how to leverage to solve business problems (RPA, AI/ML, Big Data (Hadoop))
Experience with both custom application software development and packaged software implementations.
Experience with large scale system integrators and solution providers.
Demonstrated ability, in platform first approaches, ability to solve problems, determine appropriate actions, and complete projects with little direction.
Experience in build, deployment and operations of large scale mission critical applications globally
Ability to meet tight deadlines and thrive in a multi-project environment, while ensuring production systems are up and performing well.
Experience in DevSecOps and Agile development processes, tools and methodologies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with C-level gravitas
