Job Summary
The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for all activities related to the clinical rotation program. Facilitates the student’s transition from class work to clinical rotation to graduate and in preparation for placement. Evaluates and resolves student inquiries to ensure appropriate action and compliance.  Coordinates documents required by clinical agencies as well as provide a full range of clinical support services for the health professions.  The main purpose of this position is to function as a support person that assists with organization, implementation, and maintenance of student files to include immunization requirements (i.e., drug screens, background checks, vaccinations, and CPR certifications) in reference to clinical placements and to assist faculty with their orientation and mentorship in the clinical setting. Independently administers assigned responsibilities, ensuring smooth execution and excellent customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Seek new and maintain present clinical sites, foster community/site relationships to obtain clinical contracts for students’ clinical rotations
• Coordinate, assign, track and report any activities related to the clinical rotations for the program
• Facilitate students’ transition from classroom to clinical experience
• Coordinate and facilitate the virtual clinical experience (clinical simulations) utilizing appropriate courseware (e.g. ATI and Evolve for nursing students)
• Organize, administer, plan, develop and continuously monitor the student’s progress with clinical experience
• Act as the resource for students and preceptors regarding clinical procedures and experience
• Assist with didactic, laboratory and clinical instruction and provide guidance to clinical instructors/preceptors
• Maintain students’ records, including attendance time sheets, and ensure all clinical rotation assignments are competed and meet the requirements as determined by the current course.
• Receive and compile students feedback and evaluation from staff members overseeing student progress in the clinical sites
• Provide students with academic feedback and conduct advisements as required
• Provides support and additional coverage for the available open teaching assignments and/or other positions as necessary
• Conduct periodic clinical site evaluations to ensure the facility remains a viable site for students to obtain quality clinical experience
• Evaluate and resolve clinical rotation student inquires, issues, problems, and ensure appropriate action is taken to the satisfaction of the student, company, and/or regulatory agencies in compliance with policy, procedures and legal requirements
• Communicate issues and concerns to the Program Chair, Academic Dean, or Campus Director
• Pursue ongoing formal training designed to maintain and upgrade professional, instructional and administrative capabilities
• Attend campus meetings and functions and assist with graduation ceremonies
• Manage multiple projects concurrently and adjust to fluctuating priorities
• Maintain current health requirements, training/professional development, licensures and certifications as required by the Faculty Credentials and Qualifications Handbook and to meet professional practice requirements.

Education and Experience
Required

• Academic credentials and/or work related experience mandated by ECMC Education, state, institutional, programmatic accreditation agencies and any other regulatory agencies that monitor compliance
• Valid state driver’s license

Moderate risk:  Work involves moderate risks or discomforts that require special safety precautions. Employees may be required to use protective clothing or gear.
Physical Demands
Medium work:  Job involves standing more than four hours per day; stooping, bending, lifting/pushing up to 25 lbs. etc. are regularly required.
Travel
Frequent - more than 25% of the time.
