Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: (Position is in the Northeast-Home Office is in Tampa, FL)
The Franchise Business Consultant for the Northeast region manages franchise activities of the organization and Franchise Business Consultants by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensures proper franchise relations and communications with the Restaurant Support Center.
• Assists each franchisee in developing yearly business plan to build sales and increase restaurant profitability.
• Ensures compliance with all facets of the Franchise Agreement.
• Oversees the management of several Franchise Business Consultants and provides front line coaching/guidance and problem solving techniques to Franchise Business Consultants for use with assigned franchise groups.
• Provides guidance, motivates, conducts performance appraisals, creates development plans and takes necessary disciplinary action for all Franchise Business Consultants.
• Ensures that franchise restaurants are operated according to Company standards.
• Advises franchises of non-compliance with any Federal, State and local laws pertaining to franchise law.
• Oversees the opening of new franchise restaurants.
• Works with Franchise sales department and assists in selling new restaurants to existing franchisees.
• Assists in the implementation of national and local marketing programs.
• Oversees the implementation of approved Company training programs with franchises.
• Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws.
• Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Franchise Business Consultants and their units including planning, assigning and directing work.
• Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training Franchise Business Consultants.
• Responsible for appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university.
• At least 5-7 years of related multi-unit restaurant management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written information such as procedure manuals, Company communications or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, guests, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
• Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and Internet software and payroll systems.
Other Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:
• Overnight travel may be required up to 50% of the time to visit Franchise Business Consultants and franchise groups.
Physical Demands:
• Employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time, talk and hear.
• Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
