Outside Professional Activity Program Manager Position Highlights: The Outside Professional Activity (#OPA#) Program Manager is responsible for managing the Outside Professional Activity Program for H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute, Inc. Responsibilities include overseeing daily activities of the OPA Program to ensure compliance with the federal regulations, as applicable, and Center policies regarding outside professional activities, ensuring the process for reporting and approval of outside professional activities, reviewing outside professional activity disclosures to identify appropriate classification, facilitating approval from required party(ies), and collaborating with appropriate persons to develop conflict of commitment management# plans, if applicable. The OPA Program Manager serves as a resource to Center faculty and staff regarding Center policies,the Center#s electronic OPA reporting software (Huron Click/Research Suite), and the federal regulations. Under the direction of the COI Officer, s/he will ensure an appropriate monitoring program for all outside professional activities (team member and faculty) and serve as a liaison with Research Administration, Clinic Administration and other areas within the Center including but not limited to Human Resources and the Office of Innovation and Industry Alliances to ensure proper disclosure, approval and tracking of faculty and team member outside professional activities. # The Ideal Candidate: Experience in a research related position in an academic medical center/teaching hospital environment. CHC or CHRC certification Knowledge of Huron Research Suite/COI, Oncore, Marcene, and/or Cerner Powerchart applications # Responsibilities: Manages day-to-day operations of the OPA Program including ensuring a compliant disclosure process and management of the online OPA system and database. Acts as a liaison with faculty members, developing relationships and functioning as a resource to all team members Manages OPA workload, ensuring review and approvals are processed in a timely fashion Supervises and manages performance of assigned staff Collaborates with Research Administration, Clinic Administration, Human Resources, the Office of Innovation and Industry Alliances, and others to ensure the proper identification and management of conflicts of interest and/or commitment Effectively maintains collaborative working relationships with all staff, department administrators, leadership, faculty, physician leadership, management and staff to achieve increased satisfaction with and participation in the Outside Professional Activity Program Provides education to Center employees, students, faculty and others regarding the federal regulations and Center policies regarding outside professional activities Authors newsletter articles, FAQs, email alerts and other communication and educational materials; responds to information inquiries regarding outside professional activities and other related compliance matters. Provides regulatory oversight of the OPA Program. Interprets and applies related federal regulations, Center policies, and industry best practices related to outside professional activities Serves as a subject matter expert to assist faculty and staff. Drafts policies and procedures related to the OPA Program Maintains well organized and complete work papers supporting assessments, audits, and investigations consistent with professional standards # Credentials and Qualifications: Bachelor#s Degree # Field of Study Law, Business, Healthcare of related field minimum of five (5) years of experience in research, compliance, conflicts of interest/ commitment or related work. In lieu of a Bachelor#s degree, will consider candidates with Associate#s Degree and (2) two additional years directly related work experience on top of the required (5) five for a total of (7) seven years of directly related work experience. # Preferred # Master#s Degree # Field of Study Law, Business, Healthcare or related field Preferred Licensure # CHC
