Moffitt#s Virtual Health program is dedicated to connecting patients and caregivers to their providers through easy to use technology without leaving the comfort of their home. The program#s primary focus has been creating a telemedicine solution for oncology patients. Moffitt#s Virtual Visits are offered as end-to-end scheduled services by many different clinicians across Moffitt including oncologist, surgeons, nurses, dietitians, social workers, genetic counselors and more. Virtual Visits were piloted three years ago and increased in volume by over 5,000% during the pandemic. Current volumes and patient satisfaction scores prove that virtual care is here to stay. Now we are building a team to transform tele-oncology as we know it. Our goals are to create solutions that are as easy, if not easier, than in person care.# Patients can interact with clinical care teams through face-to-face video appointments using their computer or via a mobile device. Position Highlights: The Virtual Health Medical Office Assistant is responsible for placing proactive outbound calls, emails and other communications (for example, online chat) within the centralized virtual health contact center. The Virtual Health MOA provides technical support for patients who need assistance accessing, navigating and utilizing interactive digital systems for virtual care. This role assists patients upon first contact and reduces transfers to other departments by confirming appointments, collecting and providing information. The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will have the following: One (1) year experience in an outpatient clinical setting. Two (2) years of experience in healthcare with managed care, insurance verification, collections, and authorizations. Certification or Registration from one of the following organizations: American Association of Medical Assistants (AMAA) American Medical Technologists (AMT) National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) National Healthcareer Association (NHA) National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) Be bilingual in English and Spanish Ability to travel between Moffitt campuses and satellite offices Responsibilities: Represent and support the mission, philosophy and goals of the Moffitt Cancer Center through interaction with patients and/or their representative for registration, insurance, scheduling, order entry, screening and medical necessity. Facilitate an efficient patient flow by performing patient intake and preparing patients for appointments and procedures.# Assist in the patient visit as needed as directed by a Registered Nurse, or provider. # Interact with patients to obtain information for accurate records, schedule appointments, and verifies orders. Facilitate patient flow, conduct initial patient screening and communicate pertinent information. Prep and maintain what is necessary for the virtual patient visits.# Credentials and Qualifications: High School Diploma Successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program accredited by one of the two following organizations: Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP); or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) BLS Certification One (1) year of experience in an outpatient clinical setting Two (2) years of experience in customer service
