Mann Orthodontics Dental Assistant
We are a fast-paced, patient-focused, paperless Orthodontic office in search of a candidate with a positive attitude and excellent work ethic. One who is both professional and able to multi-task as an Orthodontic Dental A ssistant . We are looking for a person with strong communication skills and a real motivation to ensure patient satisfaction. This is a full time position and you must meet all requirements listed below.
Responsibilities may include:
• Assisting the orthodontist during a variety of treatment procedures
• Ability to take diagnostic records including photos, panoramic x-rays, and cephalometric x-rays
• Complete a list of morning and evening duties daily
• Serving as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol and preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment
• Helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment
• Providing patients with instructions for oral care following treatment procedures
• Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health; (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling)
• Taking and accurately recording treatment notes
• Taking impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth)
• Performing office management tasks that often require the use of a personal computer
• Experience with Electronic Health Record Systems is a requirement
• Ability to travel as we have 3 locations Tampa, Seminole & Sarasota
• Knowledge of bracket verification
• Able to adapt and think in a busy atmosphere while not jeopardizing patient care
• Knowledge of dental terminology
• Complete each specific appointment in the given time allotted based on Clinical Level
• Willingness to work hard
• Ability to communicate and work closely with the Clinical Flow to make sure the patient flow is seamless throughout the day
• Ability to perform but not limited to clinical procedures such as fitting bands, Herbst crowns, routine archwire changes, and delivery of various orthodontic appliances.
