Department Profile
The ICUs include Trauma, Neuroscience, Surgical, Medical, Vascular, Cardiothoracic, Coronary Care, Burn, Adult ICU Step Down, Pediatrics, and Neonatal Units. TGH is a Level I Trauma Center, and a certified Regional Burn Center that excels in the care of critically ill patients.
Job Summary
Provides clinical and administrative support to staff providing direct/indirect care to patients on a specific unit/units. Responsible on a 24-hour basis for the
programmatic, operational and financial management of the unit/program. Interviews, hires, assigns work to and evaluates work performance of employees supervised. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.
Required Skills
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.
Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Two to five years of progressively more responsible experience demonstrating leadership skills in a clinical setting is required. I.E.: charge nurse duties; leadership of special projects such as nursing practice councils; quality improvement initiatives, and unit process enhancement.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage complex clinical, administrative, and interpersonal problems.
Leadership experience managing a clinical resources pool preferred .
