PEDIATRIC CARDIAC CRITICAL CARE APRN/PA
The Advanced Care Practitioner (ACP) in Surgical Services extends the services of physicians by providing patient care before and after surgery.  Expectations include providing 24/7, 365 day coverage in a busy PCICU.  Covering 13 shifts a month including nights, weekends, and holidays.  Day shift is 10 hours working 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Night shift is 14 hours working 5:00pm to 7:00am.  Provider works closely with the physician to develop and carry out plan of care for medical and surgical pediatric cardiac patients.  Responsibilities include patient presentation, patient plan, order entry and post-operative management.  Responsible for ordering and interpreting labs and diagnostic test.  Work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
They may also assist physicians in surgical procedures. Services that this  position may provide include physical exams, closing incisions, interpreting diagnostic tests and counseling patients about treatment. This position will also provide coordination and clinical services across the continuum of care for surgical patients. This position operates under physician directed protocols for all Advanced Care Practitioner duties.
Requirements include Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
Will consider new graduates with previous ICU or Cardiac ICU nursing experience.
ACP must obtain and maintain Medical Staff privileges as required by the position.
