COMMENTS: Mizkan America (Ragu) is seeking a QA/Sanitation Supervisor with primary duties on 1 st shift. This position is salaried, supervisory level. Applicants must be flexible to work any shift and/or change work hours to cover production demands. This job description reflects assignment of essential functions. It does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
SUMMARY: Responsible for assuring compliance with occupational health, safety, environmental, food quality and personnel policy compliance. Has overall responsibility for planning, organizing, directing and coordinating the sanitation teams and assigning the associates to positions. Supports team objectives by providing adequate resources and materials necessary to work safely and maintain a high level of production efficiency within the annual budget plan. Provides leadership through example, motivates individuals, builds team spirit and counsels associates to achieve excellence. Supports implementation and development of continuous improvement through coaching, mentoring and annual objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Compliance with all site safety, quality and continuous improvement standards to ensure zero accidents and incidents on a daily basis Provide positive leadership through assigned staff and teams to organize, plan, schedule and direct the workforce. Supports annual budget planning and develops plans and activities to meet quality and financial targets. Interface and provide consultation and support with corporate Quality, R&D and Continuous Improvement functions on related projects to ensure hygiene equipment design; Interfaces with Production and other site leadership to coordinate all special projects, and continuous improvement activities. Ensures compliance with master sanitation schedule, work orders and audits.
Manage wastewater treatment activities and schedule site effluent sampling to meet COD reduction and KPI targets.
Support all scheduled and unscheduled regulatory audits and maintain “audit ready” conditions.
Ensures that the site is in full compliance with all local, state and Federal regulations required by OSHA, EPA, FDA and USDA and supports corrective actions submitted through third party auditors.
Provides leadership and insight to the planning, procurement, shipping and receiving teams to ensure excellent customer service.
Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities proactively and re-prioritize daily to accommodate the changing business requirements.
Must be comfortable interfacing with various corporate roles and personnel without being face to face.
Must be able to troubleshoot and quickly initiate actions required to resolved problems.
Must be able to organize and manage time effectively.
Must be able to make quick decisions while collaboratively analyzing and pinpointing problems.
Must be capable of using strategic influence to gain support for desired process changes; functions as a business partner with the plant leadership to provide leadership.
Clear and effective oral and written communication with internal and external team members on the production schedules.
Foster cooperation and consensus among team members, and always support Positive Employee Relations.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in biology, food science or related field is preferred.
3 - 5 years’ experience in food manufacturing.
Flexibility to work any shift or time to meet demands of the position.
Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities proactively and re-prioritize daily to accommodate the changing business requirements.
Must be comfortable interfacing with various corporate roles and personnel without being face to face.
Must be able to troubleshoot and quickly initiate actions required to resolve problems.
