The MRI Technologist p erforms all routine and miscellaneous MRI procedures as well as common diagnostic imaging procedures including those performed in the ER and OR.  He/she will also participate in the on-call schedule as assigned.  Basic MRI competencies include:
· Transporting and positioning for procedures
· Safety control of the MRI suite
· Assessing patient safety prior to exam
· Obtaining and evaluating medical history
· Use of Teleradiography and 3D imaging (angio-mip-ortho)
· Practicing aseptic techniques
· Knowledge and use of the Imaging Network
· Film processing and accurate/timely reporting to Radiologist(s)
· Use of all processors

2-year, Associate-level degree in Radiologic Technology

ARRT (MR) certification

Valid Florida licensure (CRT)

American Heart Association certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)

One year of post-graduate experience, preferably in an acute-care hospital setting

Must be able to lift 50 pounds/carry 25 pounds
