Community Impact Areas: Over 80 sites, most of which are in schools – 11 Family Center Ys, 2 Wellness Centers, 65-acre outdoor adventure camp, Community Learning Center, Youth and Family Center, 20 golf program sites, 27 afterschool sites, 18 Early Head Start sites.  2,200 children enrolled in B/A school programs and 21,000 annual summer camper weeks Largest youth development and health & wellness provider in the region 160,000+ community members served, including 23,600+ kids  1,600+ staff members and 600+ volunteers $40M in revenue An independent 501(c) 3, locally-governed and managed The Sulphur Springs YMCA at the Sulphur Springs K-8 Community Partnership School (SSK8) is a long-term initiative in one of Tampa’s most vulnerable neighborhoods, designed to have a collective impact on low-income kids and families in the underserved neighborhood. As the lead partner agency with SSK8 for more than ten years, the Y’s services are embedded in alignment with the school to provide year-round support services ranging from academic support, social and emotional enrichment and parent engagement as well as meeting physical health needs. The Sulphur Springs YMCA’s Community Learning Center (CLC) is an extended learning program providing support to SSK8 students in the form of extended learning care. In keeping with the Y’s mission and vision, staff take a holistic approach to programming, focusing on academic enrichment, healthy living and social-emotional development through positive behavior support (PBS). POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Sulphur Springs Extended Learning Senior Program Director (SPD), and in partnership with the Program Director, will provide leadership and oversight to 4th-8th grade programs including afterschool and camp while consistently anticipating and exceeding member and funder expectations.  The coordinator will be responsible for delivering youth development services to support 4th-8th grade as outlined by the grant metrics and following organization wide best practices set by the Vice President of Operations. The Program Coordinator, in partnership with the Program Director K-3rd, and SPD, will assist with supervision of the 4th-8th grade staff team, driving superior program quality, increasing program enrollments, and enhancing participant experience specifically in the area of achievement, relationships and belonging. This position ensures that their teams operate efficiently and employs a continuous improvement model to meet and/or exceed goals for grant management, participant satisfaction, financial management and overall growth. Critical areas of expertise include; managing program quality, interacting with parents and school administrators, grant management implementation of curriculum programming, staff leadership, proven results in growth in programs, successfully overseeing part-time and entry-level staff teams and interviewing, hiring and onboarding staff members. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Program Quality and Growth Work with SPD and Program Director to ensure delivery of curriculum and all grant related metrics. Work closely with the school to create/maintain/improve relations with principals and office staff in order to work together to reach parents to improve student and community needs. Leverages marketing resources and drives frequent/regular community, web and social media communications and engagement. Maintain quality and ensure that the needs of the members and the community are met. Work with SPD and Program Director to respond to member and participant concerns in a timely manner, ensuring a positive program experience for participants, parents and school partners. Anticipate and exceed expectations consistently throughout programs. Develop and implement association survey and measurement strategies and action plans - Seer Base Metrics and NPS. Assist the SPD with achieving strategic plan targets. Works with grant team to submit all required grant data in a timely manner and attend meetings with funders as requested by the SPD. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with schools and community organizations. Assist with managing department budgets so that resources are managed within the required parameters. Team Leadership  Participates in hiring, developing, motivating and retaining a committed 4th-8th grade staff team passionate about the YMCA's mission, safety and service to members, and the Tampa Y promise. In partnership with the Program Director, provides direct supervision to all direct reports and ensures their professional development and success. Supervises program teams to create and maintain meaningful and impactful relationships with the families, school administration and staff, and community leaders and members. Follows all federal, state, county and schoolboard laws and regulations related to payroll, associate scheduling, licensing, child labor laws, etc. Completes all job related, supervisory and other trainings as required. Safety and Risk Management Ensures all Tampa Y program standards and best practices are implemented and followed. Applies YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to best practices, emergency procedures, medical and disciplinary situations and child abuse prevention. Ensures all program staff are properly trained and prepared for emergency situations. This includes implementing and following training requirements in addition to ensuring proper reporting of all incidents/accidents according to risk management procedures. Maintain proper records, including staff member certifications, staff member meetings, and trainings. Ensures staff members and volunteers are scheduled in accordance to safety and program needs and ensures all safety and program ratios are followed. Monitors programming to adhere to all state, local and YMCA health & safety regulations. Assist in all areas, project teams, job tasks as assigned. Qualifications Education Preferred Associatesor better in or better in Education or related field High Schoolor better in or better in or related field Experience Preferred - years: Prior grants management experience preferred. - years: At least six month of supervisory and payroll management experience preferred. 1- years: Minimum of one year of experience in camp, afterschool, or similar youth related programs. - years: Highly motivated with the consistent ability to meet or exceed goals, cultivate and retain program participants. - years: Ability to quickly build rapport and develop effective relationships with program prospects and others to achieve goals. - years: Consistently self-driven and goal-oriented with the ability to set effective team and individual goals and take ownership for results. - years: Demonstrated ability to multi-task and adapt to changing contexts and priorities. - years: Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to identify and leverage relevant data to use in planning and decision-making. - years: Ability to understand, adapt to and interact with diverse people, teams, perspectives and cultures. - years: Proficient in using email, Internet, and other PC-based applications with the ability to learn and adapt to new technology. - years: Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
