BVP is seeking a Field Technician / Customer Service Engineer to join our team in the Owensboro, KY area! The Field Technician / Customer Service Engineer will provide break-fix troubleshooting and repair services as well as install / de-installs to our customers.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years' experience as a Field Service Technician / Engineer, will be able to take calls for BIB / Epson, and is capable of moving/lifting/pushing up to 50-pounds without assistance. Travel is required for this opportunity and will be mostly 150-miles from home base, occasional overnight with approval as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Installing, repairing and troubleshooting workstations, Printers, Scanners, Routers, & Switches
• Installing and repairing Servers, Desktops, Laptops, and Printers.
• Troubleshoot and installing in LAN-WAN environments
• Provide some desk side technical support for hardware and software
• Perform analysis to effectively identify potential problems to eliminate problems in the future
• Maintain requisite technical competence to support the hardware and software
• Install, move, add, and change hardware and related peripherals in accordance with the Change Management Process
• Taking appropriate actions to mitigate or eliminate hardware/software problems
• Perform applicable preventative maintenance, per OEM specifications
• Standby and travel are a requirement, normally 150 - 200 mile radius
EDUCATION:
• High school/College/Military/Tech School - Graduation from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Information Technology is desirable
• Certifications: A+CE/Net+CE/MCSE - Cisco Certifications will be desired.  A+CE/Net+CE required to be obtained within first 3-months for 1, and 2 nd 3-months for the other.
EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 5 years of Information Technology Experience in the public sector with organizations undergoing major upgrades to software and systems is preferred
• Experience installing and repairing Servers, Desktop & Laptops
• Experience installing & troubleshooting LAN-WAN environments
• Experience installing and repairing & troubleshooting workstations, Printers, Scanners, Routers, & Switches
• Apple/MAC Cert’s and/or Experience a PLUS.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be available to be on-call per schedule
• Must have excellent communications and customer service skills, and demonstrate leadership and creative thinking
• Must be able to travel throughout the state and outlying areas
• Must be able to work overtime when required
• Must be able to provide own dependable transportation
• Must submit to and pass a Pre-Employment Drug and Alcohol screen
