Production Supervisor
This position requires an effective team leader to provide the leadership and direction for the Potlines department team of production and maintenance personnel in their efforts to maximize the safe production of a primary aluminum in a cost effective manner. The incumbent must be very proactive in utilizing the coaching concept toward a self-directed work force with emphasis on employee involvement and empowerment.
Role Responsibilities include:
• Ensures that all operating and personnel procedures are followed
• Ensures that all team members are properly trained in their jobs and have the proper tools
• Communicates all pertinent company, plant, and department information to team members
• Maintains operational control, including load and chemical control, completion of scheduled and unscheduled work, and maintenance of all equipment
• Supervises team, schedules work flow and vacations, and ensures that teams are adequately staffed on all shifts
• Set priorities for the crews
• Role Requirements
• 3 – 5 years of heavy industrial experience in a supervisory capacity
• Must be effective in coordinating resources and managing people
• Excellent leadership skills
• Basic computer skills
• Have a strong commitment to safety
