Summary:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing electronic field services for automated digital processing and information systems on deepwater ships; 2) Conducting analyses and studies for the purpose of developing or evaluating improvements in design, maintenance, safety and operation of automated digital processing and information systems including hardware, software, switching and routing devices; 3) Evaluating network and equipment failures to identify significant aspects of the problems, their causes and corrections; 4) Performing functional checkout, grooming, adjustment, and testing of repaired, new or modernized shipboard systems. Additional Information: This is a Key/Emergency-Essential position. In the event of a crisis situation of war, the incumbent must continue to perform assigned duties to support mission requirements until relieved by proper authority. In addition, this position requires Anthrax vaccinations. The Anthrax vaccination is a series of 6 shots occurring at 0, 2 and 4 weeks; then at 6, 12 and 18 months, followed by an annual booster as long as you remain in the position. We strongly recommend that you begin the Anthrax series before arriving in Bahrain and provide a shot card or other medical verification upon arrival. If this is not possible, you will be required to report to the Branch Health Clinic to receive these mandatory vaccinations within 15 days of arrival. The Branch Health Clinic will also provide subsequent Anthrax vaccinations (to complete the series) as well as annual boosters. You may be exempted from Anthrax requirements if you provide acceptable medical documentation which provides medical justification for exemption. The NATO Status of Forces Agreement prohibits employment in the U.S. Civilian Component in a host nation of any person who holds dual citizenship of the U.S. and the host nation. For example: A person who holds both Italian and U.S. citizenship may not be employed in the U.S. Civilian Component in Italy; however, that person is not prohibited by the NATO Status of Forces Agreement from employment in the U.S. civilian Component in another NATO host nation of which (s)he does not hold citizenship.
