Supervisor, Hawesville, Shipping and Shipping/ Receiving Supervisor.

General Summary:
Responsible for directing and controlling department activities. To ensure product flow of Finish Goods inventory and outbound shipments. Responsible for Receiving and
in-bound shipments.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Instill proper safety awareness in all department employees. Promote proper safety and ensure that all employees perform their jobs in a safe manner and PPE requirements are followed.
Monitor all safety hazards and implement corrective action to prevent and eliminate safety issues.
Investigate all the cause of all incidents. Implement correction required to prevent future incidents. Properly report all incidents.
Perform required Department inspections.
Promote and implement the Principle of OPS and Department Metrics.
Direct the activities of the Shipping Department. Supervise the activities of warehouse and shipping people.
Supervise and direct Shipping/Receiving Team Leaders in the operation of their job.
Monitor and control daily shipments to ensure proper loading to meet customer demand and requirements.
Prepare Job Standards and SOPs as required. Review SOPs to support ISO requirements.
Monitor warehouse organization and flow of material. Product, equipment and packaging material to be properly stored and organized to promote orderliness and prevent damage.
Maintain warehouse organization. Set up warehouse bays to ensure proper storage and flow. Create and change warehouse Zones and Bays as necessary.
Schedule cycle counts to ensure correct inventory. Work with Materials and Accounting when adjustments are necessary.
Coordinate, with Traffic, the schedule for outbound shipments.
Monitor order shipments to ensure department is meeting on time order service level.
Be able to allocate and bill loads. Have understanding of traffic scheduling and be able to perform these duties as necessary.
Perform assigned task to meet handling and shipment of hazardous materials. Ensure that department meets guidelines and requirements related to OSHA, HazMet, DOT and other safety and environmental regulations.
Will be able to perform both Receiving and Shipping, including Team Leader jobs. Will perform and assist with these jobs as required.
Will investigate department related CSNs and issue corrective action to prevent additional customer complaints.
Job Specifications:
Bachelor of Science in Business or other related field.
Able to supervise people and meet customer requirements.
Able to operate fork truck, overhead crane and yard spotter.
Able to create and present presentations, related to department.
Able to acquire knowledge in mainframe and Distribution systems related to job task and requirements.
