MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST STUDENT Allied Health Hours: 3p - 8p As Needed - PRN (As needed) Paygrade/Wages/Salary Info: OH 2013-70 - 40225A
Job Summary Performs moderately complex clinical laboratory tests and procedures. Maintains and calibrates equipment. # Job Responsibilities Performs clinical laboratory tests according to established procedures of verification, processing, testing, and reporting after consultation with technologists or technicians. Performs the pertinent quality control procedures to validate test results according to established standards, consults with medical technologists and medical lab technicians, and records results appropriately with approval. Performs preventive maintenance and monitoring of all equipment to ensure that it is working properly and maintains related records following technologist/technician approval. Records on instrument logs any repairs, replacement, and maintenance needed of equipment. Provides clerical support as necessary. Maintains adequate supply inventories by rotating stock, checking for expiration dates, and ordering replacement stock. Performs venipuncture on patients of all age groups and other specimen collection using proper therapeutic skills and according to procedures. Qualifications High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher required upon hire AND A minimum of 3 years# college level education in science related field required upon hire No experience required No licensure/certification/registration required Skills and Attributes Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Works under minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
