We are seeking an enthusiastic Full-time Pharmacy Coordinator: to join our Field Operations team in Owensboro, KY. The selected candidate will work in a MAT program and be required to collect, log, order, process, and ship urine and/or oral fluid(saliva) specimens for drug testing. The Pharmacy Coordinator is also responsible for educating new patients about the Cordant Pharmacy Program, onboarding and enrolling patients, and delivering prescription medications to patients at an assigned client location under the supervision of the dispensing Cordant pharmacist, while maintaining a high degree of security, ethical conduct, and customer service. The Pharmacy Coordinator will receive medications via direct delivery at the client location or will be responsible for picking up medications from common carrier locations for patients with scheduled appointments at the client location each day. The Pharmacy Coordinator will then deliver those medications into the care of the appropriate patient, per the direction of the prescriber, dispensing pharmacist, and Cordant policy. The Pharmacy Coordinator must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable vehicle.
This role is compensated between $12.25-$14.00 per hour. The schedule for this position will be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm, and Wednesday 10am - 8pm.:
Pay rates may be temporarily reduced by 20% due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. This role is temporary with the opportunity to convert to a permanent position as business dictates. :
Essential Functions:
Pharmacy:
• On-board and enroll patients into Cordant Pharmacy Program
• Obtain, file, ship, or fax any paperwork associated with the prescription
• Maintain call, shipping, and medication delivery logs
• Receive delivery of patient medications, via courier drop-off or direct pick-up at pharmacy or local shipping carriers
• Verify patient identity prior to delivery and ensure accurate entry of demographic information
• Deliver medication to patients seen by the provider, per provider and prescriber direction
• Return undelivered medication to the pharmacy at the end of each day
• Maintain security of medications
• Assist with prior authorization process as needed
• Liaise between the pharmacy and client to ensure prescriptions are prepared for delivery based on patients’ schedule
Laboratory Collection:
• Courier packages from local shipping affiliates to laboratory for testing
• Collect, log, order, process, and ship urine, blood, oral, and/or hair specimens to laboratory
• Maintain organization in the collection of all specimens
• Assemble samples for shipping
• File requisitions, chain of custody forms, and associated paperwork
Education and Experience:
• HS diploma or GED, required
• 2+ years experience working in a medical office, required
• Experience as a Pharmacy Technician, Medical Assistant, Phlebotomist, or Certified Nursing Assistant, highly preferred
• Valid driver's license, good driving record, and proof of insurance are required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Excellent communication skills
• High degree of trustworthiness and ethical conduct
• Ability to read names, test codes, follow basic instructions
• Must have basic computer skills
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills
• Self-motivated with ability to work under and meet strict deadlines individually as well as a in a team environment
