JOB DESCRIPTION
This is machine and trade work involving the safe operation of a first-class bridge. Responsibilities include performing routine maintenance and conducting day-to-day operation of large and complex movable bridges. Work is characterized by location on major thoroughfares with heavy vehicular traffic and requirements for frequent openings to allow ocean going vessel passage. Employees are responsible for the immediate, safe, secure, and proper functioning of the bridge during their assigned hours. During closed times, employees are responsible for routine maintenance and routine janitorial duties. Work is performed under general supervision.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalent.
