BASIC FUNCTION:
Plant Manager is responsible for all safety, quality, operations, environmental, and financial decisions following corporate directives and policies, as well as ensuring all laws and regulations are observed. Also responsible for plant effective performance and to offer recommendations to the operations manager concerning all areas of the plant
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage ongoing improvement of the safety culture and behaviour, establishing safety as a priority for all employees and activities at the plant
• Ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation of the plant to meet the business demand by producing consistent quality products suitable for the market and targeting to increase plant efficiency and profitability.
• Strive for a close relationship with the customer to better understand their issues and meet their needs, ensuring in coordination with other relevant functions of the organization (e.g., sales, customer service, etc.)
• Manage all operations at the plant ensuring reliable and sustainable processes with minimal maintenance issues
• Develop continuous plant improvement projects
• Propose and monitor approved budgets and expenses, providing the control of costs accordingly. Manage local capital expenditure within the defined budget in line with the business plan, and ensure to complete projects per schedules, budget, and quality (with support from the Engineering Team)
• Ensure all monthly site reporting occurs in a timely and accurate manner
• Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team for activities required at the plant, emphasizing on teamwork culture
• Maintain all required plant certifications (quality, environment, etc.) and permits
• Continue development and implementation of 6S initiatives
• Coordinate site requirements with other functions on the organization (e.g., SCM, IT) as needed
• Lead and ensure implementation of regional and group initiatives
• Lead specific topics and projects in plant operations involving other plants and customers
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
BS degree in a Business Degree or Engineering or equivalent experience.
Experience in the manufacturing industry is needed and at least ten years of progressive responsibility in an operations role. Trustworthy with organizational ability, as well as proven people, oral, and written skills.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Capable of Multi-tasking, organized excellent time management skills
High level of commitment to safety, knowledge of safe working techniques, must be able to adapt to change and have commitment to a team environment.
Ideal candidate must be reliable and have proven leadership abilities. Experience with standard computer applications and web-based software such as Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
Experience on PCC process and knowledge of ISO preferred.
