Position Title: Senior Accountant
Supervision Received: Position reports to Assistant Controller
Supervisory Responsibilities: Provides supervision to Accounts Payable Specialist
Job Summary : This position is responsible for overseeing the accounts payable functions including general ledger coding and tracking, monitoring vendor payments, tax reporting, and assistance with financial statement preparation as well as other general accounting and tax responsibilities.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements and Board reports
• Reconcile and manage depreciation
• Reconcile and post monthly accounting entries
• Assist in preparation of governmental reports such as call reports, FR2900, FR2644, property taxes, 1099s, etc.
• Assist with month-end closing process
• Assist with income tax calculations
• Assist with internal and external audits
• Supervise Accounts Payable Specialist and provide backup for accounts payable and financial reporting analysis functions
• Maintain financial security by adhering to internal controls

Knowledge Required to Perform Essential Job Functions:
- Administration and Management - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
- Education and Training - Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
- Personnel and Human Resources - Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training and compensation and benefits
- Clerical- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as Word processing, managing files and records and other office procedures
• Mathematics – Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
• English Language – Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
• Economics and Accounting – Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and analysis and reporting of financial data
• Computers and Electronics – Knowledge of electronic equipment and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming
Skills and Abilities Required to Perform Essential Job Functions:
• Accuracy and attention to detail is a must
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and etiquette required
• Must work well in a team environment
• Must have excellent computer skills
• Must be comfortable working in excel and other spreadsheet-based software
• Must be able to multi-task

• Must be able to handle large workload while meeting deadlines; time management skills
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
• CPA preferred
• 3-5 years’ experience in an accounting position is required
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Banking experience preferred
